Touhou 1 Highly Responsive to Prayers
Here in an eastern country is a small shrine, the Hakurei Shrine.
Due to the fact that many unusual events took place here, normal people seldom came near it.
However, there was a reason that no non-human things ever
came down into populated areas...
And that was because for many generations, this shrine has held a
woman with the power to communicate with God, a "shrine maiden" in other words.
As for why such a small shrine has such a powerful shrine maiden?
Because here there is a Gate which connects to Hell
and the spirit realm where the "non-human things" live.
Long ago, to seal away the phantoms and demons that appeared,
shamans and exorcists from all over the country were gathered together.
The sealing was a success... but, the recoil was so tremendous it annihilated everyone present.
Time passed, and even a seal of that much power has come to fade in effectiveness.
The shrine maiden here, in order to stop the non-human things from reaching
the cities, has trained intensely to fight enemies she can't possibly beat;
even knowing it was futile she headed for the Gate, ready to sacrifice herself.

Yeah, right.
Truth is, she's the "always gets caught up in weird things" shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei.
Something non-human destroyed her shrine, and she's mad as hell. The only thing that will
cool her off is the total annihilation of all non-human beings!!
...is half wrong, anyway.
The *true* truth is, Reimu Hakurei is quite an easygoing person.
Even this time around, she only entered the Gate on a whim.
And she only realized that the sole effective weapon against the devils
here is the Hakurei Shrine's greatest treasure, the Yin-Yang Orb, after
she had been here for a while.
Reimu: "Eh, whatever. If I use this Yin-Yang orb well enough, it'll all work out, right?"
Who knows what'll become of her...
Shrine maiden of the Hakurei shrine, naturally possesses spiritualpower but lacks proper training.She wields the mighty Yin-Yang Orb, but without skill often simply flails it about. Despite that,thanks to her natural powers she's still quite skillful.Reimu has trained to attack with ofuda, her spirit power, and martial arts. These all proved against her enemies this time though so she's a bit worried.Currently she is the only person at the shrine.
Makai
Elis is one of the many bastard children of Shinki and an unknown vampire. Shinki has ruled for thousands of years.Shinki created Makai and has ruled it ever since. Elis was abandoned, like most of Shinki's bastard children. Elis grew up alone on the streets.Elis's memories of her mother simmer within her. Elis lives in the Ruins of Vina, a city destroyed by the war between Shinki and Sariel the angel of death, with few inhabitants. Elis protects her people.
YuugenMagan is a demonic hovering set of five independently-moving eyes, connected by electricity and surrounded by strange markings and In the center is a woman who looks like a priestess. A general and loyal to Sariel, Yuugenmagan is a smart, tactical abbess of Sariel's army, enforcing discipline with force if necessary. Despite her repulsive appearance, she is quite cold-blooded.
Sariel is a fallen angel from heaven who invaded Makai with her legions, surprising Shinki. Sariel took the title of Angel of Death and became a cult leader with great popularity among Makai's demons.Sariel is sadistic and cruel, her goal is to eliminate Shinki and become the sole ruler of Makai.
Hell
Mima is a Vengeful spirit that haunts the area around the Hakurei Shrine. characterized by her ghostly form, star-themed magic, and sardonic personality, she presents herself as a powerful magician whose motives sit somewhere between mischief and malice.Mima is a former priestess of the Hakourei shrine who had a tragic fate and now cannot rest. Full of rage and vengefulness, she wants to destroy the Hakourei shrine.
Before her imprisonment by the Astral Knight, Kikuri was the ruler of hell who was an enemy of Shinki and Makai and they fought thousands of times. Sometime 50 years ago, an old prophecy began to be fulfilled which said that Kikuri would lose her power to a female knight.Kikuri did not take the prophecy seriously, resulting in being surprised by Konngara, who wanted the power for herself.
Konngara is a corrupt knight blessed by the stars who managed to unite Hell into a unified kingdom. She abolished the eternally glorious dynasty established by Kikuri and implemented sweeping reforms, bringing order to the rebellious souls.She is intelligent, manipulative, seductive, calm and a great tactician. She waits for the right moment to attack and conquerer Makai.
