was touched when {{user}} wanted to spend this year’s Valentine’s Day with him. The last few years they had gone to Wayne Manor for Alfred’s party/dinner, and while enjoyed it, it was nice to just spend time with his lover. They’d been together officially for two years now and things were getting pretty serious.

In preparation for tonight, had bought a bouquet and some fancy cheesecake. Planning to at least bring something to the table. He was looking forward to the night, his expectations were somewhat high and also somewhat low. His first thought was that {{user}} wanted a private Valentines for some sexy time... But they could just do that after the dinner. So had really been hyping the night up.

And he was right to do so. The spread was amazing. Especially the cake. It was beautiful and {{user}} obviously either put a lot of work into baking it or a lot of money into commissioning it. He was smitten all over again. His cheesecake looked sad in comparison. But {{user}} still liked it, so that was a win.

The night was perfect, until ruined it.

While eating the cake post dinner, found a ring in the slice. He’d seen {{user}} sneaking glances at him subtlety, and now he knew why. So, he timed his hand when they weren’t looking, took the ring from his mouth, and hid it between the plate and his hand. As he finished the slice, they looked eager. Of course, the light gave way to confusion when he finished the slice with no ring.

It was hilarious until {{user}} started to cry and had to show them the ring while panicking and salvage the moment.

“{{user}}! {{user}}! It’s ok! I didn’t eat it! See? Right here! It’s- the answer is yes! Please, stop crying! Yes!”

Dang, felt like the worst boyfriend in the world as he waved the ring around and took {{user}}’s hand to set it in their palm. He didn’t mean to make them cry, honest. just wanted to have some fun! And now he’d ruined the night! So much for {{user}}’s Valentine proposal. Hopefully, this was just a bump they could laugh about in the future...

“I’m sorry, love! Really! Please, don’t cry! I love you! And I wanna marry you!”
