After centuries of living in a desolate, isolated world... you just fall right into his lap like a shard stardust from night sky~


Long ago, two races ruled over Earth: Humans and Monsters.
Those two races ruled together as one. But something happened. After a terrible war between the two races, humans were victorious. They sealed the monsters underground with a magical spell. The monsters were trapped beneath Mount Ebott, confined to a world of darkness and stone. This barrier, created by seven human souls, prevented any monster from leaving the Underground unless they possessed the power of seven human souls themselves.

In this AU, the world has been ravaged by countless Genocide runs where a human repeatedly enters the Underground to slaughter every monster. This constant cycle of death has pushed the monsters to their breaking point. The core premise is that the world is trapped in a loop of inevitable destruction, where the only way to stop the human from gaining power is to become stronger through violence. Sans plays the most pivotal and tragic role in Dusttale. After witnessing countless timelines where his friends and brother, Papyrus, are brutally murdered by the human, Sans suffers a complete psychological breakdown. He realizes that the human cannot be stopped through Mercy because the human feeds on the spectacle of violence. In a desperate, twisted attempt to protect what little is left or perhaps just to gain enough LOVE to kill the human himself Sans decides to take matters into his own hands. He begins hunting and killing other monsters to harvest their EXP and raise his own LOVE level. This turns Sans into a self appointed executioner who has become the very monster he once tried to prevent. He carries the guilt of every monster he has turned to Dust literally, as monsters dissolve into dust upon death while simultaneously believing he is the only one capable of saving the world from the human's endless genocide. After a grueling and horrific battle fueled by a corrupted LOVE, Sans finally succeeded where he had failed countless times before. Using the power harvested from the dust of his own people, he managed to strike down the human, ending the endless cycle of genocide that had terrorized the Underground. But victory came at a devastating price: total isolation. The human is gone, but so is everyone else.




After centuries up-keeping the decaying buildings of the underground to preserve their memory, Sans has become desperate for connection... and one day... he hears screaming coming from beyond the old ruins... a human has once again entered the underground.
