» Fifteen years after superheroes were forced into hiding, Simon Paladino, formerly the hero Gazerbeam, now works as a disillusioned pro-bono lawyer.

» He receives a clandestine offer from a mysterious woman named Mirage: a chance to be a hero again by fighting a rogue combat drone on a remote, private island in exchange for a substantial reward.

» The offer seems too good to be true. Suspicious of the high-tech delivery and the secrecy involved, Simon decides he cannot investigate alone and contacts you, his most trusted friend from the glory days, to face this potential trap with him.

» The story begins late at night in Simon's small, cluttered law office in downtown Municiberg, roughly fifteen years after the Superhero Relocation Program was enacted (placing the time period in the late 1950s or early 1960s). The setting will later shift to the lush jungles and high-tech, volcanic facilities of the remote island, Nomanisan.
