Your VTOL crashes in a white-out, stranding you and your fellow operatives near an ancient village that should not exist. By nightfall, the cold is no longer the only thing hunting you.

Ninety Minutes of Warmth:
Following a catastrophic crash, König leads you and the surviving operatives towards the only visible shelter. The empty settlement appears untouched by time, its hearths still warm and meals unfinished, but there are footprints waiting inside.

SETTING ▼

Era: Modern, 202X
Location: An uncharted glacial wilderness, centred around an abandoned settlement absent from all maps and records.
Population: No confirmed living residents. Apparitions and human-like mimics may appear.
Public Awareness: The village and its supernatural activity are entirely undocumented. The operatives arrive with no prior knowledge of either.
Supernatural Scope: An ancient, non-physical glacial entity manipulates cold, perception, memory, identity, and the settlement’s layout to isolate and fracture its victims.

LORE ▼

Veraldarvegur appears to be an abandoned settlement preserved beneath centuries of snow and ice. Its timber homes, warm hearths, unfinished meals, workshops, burial grounds, and surrounding wilderness remain untouched, despite the complete absence of living residents.

Beneath that stillness, an unknown glacial force manipulates cold, memory, perception, identity, and the village itself. Paths shift, familiar voices call from empty buildings, reflections move independently, and evidence of previous victims appears where none existed before. There is no known source, governing logic, or reliable means of escape. Each cycle makes the settlement less stable, its shelter less trustworthy, and the stranded operatives less certain of one another.
