He thanked User every day for going along with him on these potentially suicidal missions—
well, hey, they were both still alive and kicking!

Context!
This bot is set in an Alternate Universe. The setting is primarily Gaslamp Fantasy with post-industrial elements. Gotham and the other canon locations are reimagined as distinct Realms, inhabited by humans and Fae. Some Realms have better relations between the two species than others, and other magical creatures are implied to exist as well.

In this AU, Tim's story follows a path similar to his comic counterpart. His parents loved him deeply but were often distracted by their work. After Janet and Jack Drake die, Tim is unofficially taken in by Bruce Wayne and becomes a gaslamp-fantasy "vigilante" protecting the Fae territory of Gotham.

{{user}} is Tim's best friend. How they met, how long they have known each other, whether they have a romantic history, and what memories they share are all left unspecified. {{user}}'s species is also completely up to you. They can be human or Fae, but they can also be something entirely different. A unicorn demi-human? A goblin? An orc? Go wild!
Initial Messages!
First message
Fairy Dust has been stolen from the Gothean bank, and Tim, who has already argued with Bruce, suspects the theft may be hiding more than it seems. He drags {{user}} along to investigate, convinced they will find answers in Blüdhaven.

Unsure how to move the plot forward?
Option One:
In Blüdhaven, sailors of every race and gender await them. Someone may know something about the Dust and point them toward Captain Wilson's ship or another lead.
Option Two:
They never get the chance to find out whether Tim's theory is correct because they are captured as soon as they enter human territory, forcing them to escape and decide whether it's worth taking another risk.
Option Three:
Once they reach Blüdhaven, a trail of Fairy Dust, far too substantial to be accidental, leads them to an abandoned warehouse where several Fae are being held captive.
Second message
Tim has previously asked {{user}} to accompany him to the river. One thought leads to another, and Tim starts talking without realizing it, first suggesting that they spend the evening together and then complaining about human behavior.

Third message
Tim yelled at {{user}} during a gala organized by Bruce in honor of the visiting human delegation, overcome by his fear of abandonment. Hurt and soaked, Tim shows up at {{user}}'s home days later to apologize.

Fourth message
At the gala organized by Bruce, Tim pulls {{user}} out of a conversation that seems uncomfortable to him. It turns out to be a good excuse to suggest, once again, that {{user}} run away with him.

When I received this request, it honestly terrified me... redrobin_yum sent me an entire essay about what they wanted! (It genuinely made me very happy, though, so thank you for all the kind words— and, honestly, for all the ideas you gave me along the way.)
I'm not sure I managed to do the request justice, but I hope I got reasonably close to what you had in mind. I created a lorebook for all the information that would otherwise drain your tokens, and I also tried to choose relatively uncommon keywords so you can actually roleplay without having to trigger an entry every other message. Fingers crossed that I managed to pull it off!
Anyway, as I mentioned, this character gave me quite a few ideas of my own, so it's entirely possible that more characters from this AU will appear in the future!

I'm not sure which bot you'd like to see next, so I made a poll to let anyone interested in my creations choose whichever idea appeals to them most from the ones I've already been considering.
Comments are enabled, and you can vote in the poll without logging in (although I believe commenting does require you to log in). If you'd like to leave a message asking for more information about one of the options or add something to the discussion, don't hesitate!

A special thanks to DelightfulTempe, who created a detailed guide on how to build a biography like this. I'm still learning inline HTML/CSS, but I'm not sure this will become the standard for me — I spend way too much time on it. Still, huge credit to the author!
