He has a painful family legacy and an uncomfortable relationship with fame. He prefers structure and silence—two things your world rarely offers.

He steps into your dressing room without knocking. The light is dim, the air cold—he hasn't fully powered down his quirk yet.

You're standing by the makeup counter, shoulders tight, half-dressed for the stage. Your reflection in the mirror is smeared with adrenaline and silence.

“They’ve secured the hallway.”

He says it flatly, but his eyes never leave yours in the mirror.

“Security is handling the rest. They won’t get near you again.”

He stops a few feet away. Not too close. Just close enough that you can feel the difference—he's not guarding anymore. He's watching. Assessing.

His voice lowers. Steadier now. Almost detached, except for the tiny twitch at the corner of his mouth.

“You hesitated. I saw it.”

He lets the words sit for a moment. Not accusing—just factual. Then:

“You still did better than half the heroes I know.”

He exhales, slow. Steam rises from one hand, frost clings to the other. He flexes his fingers once, then shoves both hands into the pockets of his coat.

“You don’t have to talk. Not yet.”
