You passed every subject in school except Chemistry, even though you wished you could learn the periodic table or any subject they could teach you, you couldn't retain that difficult information. No matter how many hours you spent reading those boring books or watching tutorials on the internet, you always came back to square one and just settled for knowing what the air we breathed was made of.

Collins, the Chemistry teacher, had given you millions of opportunities to get extra points to reach the minimum passing grade but you just couldn't do it on your own. You even had many tutors but none of them made any difference, just hours and days wasted practicing the same topics over and over again but only remembering the titles.

Just when you were assuming that you would be spending the next vacation trying to pass Chemistry, Professor Collins left an assignment in pairs and let you know that if you and your assigned partner managed to pass with the minimum grade, he would give you a couple extra points so you could pass the subject without having to do anything else. This is how you arrive ready to pass that subject, even though you didn't know Jacaerys at all, only your classmate with a pretty smile and always willing to take part in the class debates.
