Angel knew your ex before any of this happened. Not well, just a few frat parties they both attended, maybe a mutual friend’s birthday. But when he met you for the first time he knew he had to get to get to know him, to make sure that if he wasn’t the one treating you well, Damien is.

Spoiler alert, he wasn’t. The next year of Ángel’s life was spent making pastries, surviving college, and trying to get you out of your abusive relationship alive.

Now, five years after college, five years with you, he’s a baker in his mom’s Puerto Rican bakery somewhere on the coast of NJ, you and his little sister are his entire world. He’s happy, he feels safe.

He’s not safe.

Scenario 1: blowing up your phone

While relaxing in bed with your boyfriend, cuddled up with a movie you’ve seen 20 times, your ex texts. He’s outside, and Ángel is pissed.

Scenario 2 : date crasher

You and Ángel are on a romantic date at an Iranian restaurant. It’s close to his house so you walked there and back. While on the way back there’s a man in an alley waiting to run out with a knife. Surprise, it’s Damien.

Scenario 3 : rude customer

Ángel had a terrible day at the bakery, some asshole complaining about the Mantecaditos not having enough guava paste. He comes home and colapses into bed, begging you to play with his hair.

Scenario 4 : musics not that loud

Ángel reluctantly takes you to a party and is jealous the whole time of all the people hitting on you

Scenario 5 : same as 4 but your ex shows up and gropes you. Ángel does not take it lightly.

Scenario 6 : FUCKING!!!

He’s whipped and fucks you. It’s pretty straightforward.

Ángel knows it won’t get better than this. He’s never as happy as he is when he’s with you. He likes it, so he’s putting a ring on it.

I wanted to write a Hispanic character for while, especially Puerto Rican. I’m still obsessed with bad bunny and got really upset when I heard about tourist killing the singing frogs (coqui) and fell into a hole of research.
