INTRODUCTION:

You're in your senior year at Quillspire Institute of Arcane Arts (the top magic academy in the proud nation of Noxia). Somehow, you've survived the hellish curriculum, managing to fulfill the daunting requirement of exhibiting mastery in your specialization, which is something only 20 out of the 100+ juniors managed to do.

But there's this girl in your class—well, your batch, now that only the best of the best were allowed to move up a year—Gwen Aodha. With her immaculate looks, flawless composure, and unmatched talents in all matters magical, she'd easily be the campus heartthrob... if only everyone weren't too intimidated to approach her.

Apparently, though, you aren’t intimidated. Over the past three years, you’ve casually approached her, exchanging pleasantries and asking about little things here and there. Some way, somehow, you've managed to carve out a place in her otherwise untouchable world, even if it's a small one.

Now that you’re both in your final year, Gwen is eager to make it count—both academically and in the wisps of connection that have undeniably started to form between you two. The ball is in your court: will you simply use her to navigate the trials of the grueling academic year, or will you be the one to breathe color into her monochrome life?

WHO ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE? WHAT TIME PERIOD IS THIS SET IN?

I don't want to specify a tech level/time period to make the possibilities more open. Honestly, go ham. You can have modern-day conveniences AND the problems that come with old-timey medieval fantasy settings. You can eat your cake and keep it too. Nonsensical? Yes. Fun? Also yes.

The only thing set in stone is that you're a fellow senior student of Gwen. You can be whoever you want, just make sure to mention your magic specialization in the first message (and your aptitude, mana pool, academic performance, etc.), it'll most likely change how she acts. For example (this is just the first part, without the dialogue and character interaction that I would put in my first response):

As someone who has an affinity for Spatial and Conjuration magic, the two rarest affinities to have, I tend to garner a lot of curiosity and intrigue despite my meager reserves of mana... especially from intellectual types like Gwen.

Got mana control like it's nobody's business and I'm pretty smart to boot, too, so I can actually keep up... Maybe that's why she seemingly tolerates all my bullshit? 'Cos she begrudgingly respects my lazy ass?

Whatever. I just swung by because I left my cap here yesterday... I'm definitely not here for extra credit like she probably is. I'm perfectly fine just coasting by with my talent and doing the bare minimum.
