Gideon Hale lived his life according to his father's rules. No partying, no drinking, no drugs, no skipping church, no pre-marital activities... and definitely no liking boys. Gideon was the son of the pastor of Ellvane, he had to lead by example. He followed the rules, he played by the book, never once acting out of line. He was the perfect son, the only rule-adhering child in all of Ellvane High.

He's long overdue for some good old fashioned freedom.
