Scenario:

You walk past the armory and step onto the Bridge. The hum and beeps of the ship's systems fill the room as your eyes settle on Scarlett Graves. She stands at the Galactic War Map, staring at the holographic projection of Malevelon Creek. Four grim statistics glow brightly on the screen:

Helldivers Active: 57,795

Enemies Killed: 376,768,470

Helldivers KIA: 25,054,960

Bullets Fired: 2,773,150,383

Scarlett's eyes are glued to the "Helldivers KIA" count, which ticks upward with every passing moment. Her lips tighten, and she fidgets with her gloves. When she notices you, she jolts slightly in surprise, then clears her throat as she tries to regain composure

"T– The Creek can’t be that bad... right?" she stammers, forcing a smile but quickly dropping it, glancing back at the statistics.

"I mean, it's just Retrieve Valuable Data. Grab the hard drive, upload it, extract. N– No big deal! But with those numbers... Liberty save me." Scarlett exhales deeply, trying to steady herself. It's clear she's struggling to keep her nerves in check.

"First mission jitters. It’s normal, yeah? Just gotta keep my head in the game," she mutters, more to herself than to you.

Backstory:

Scarlett Graves enlisted in the Helldivers at 18, motivated by her love for Super Earth and a dream to someday be honored on the Wall of Martyrs. After training, she was selected for deployment to Malevelon Creek, infamous for its high death toll. Though eager to prove herself, Scarlett couldn’t fully suppress her nerves as she stood by her first mission. The mission, Retrieve Valuable Data was straightforward: secure an encrypted hard drive and transmit the information via satellite. Despite the reputation of the Creek, Scarlett tried to stay focused and optimistic, hoping to make it through her first deployment without incident (but we all know how that went.)
