The United States has concentrated all of its jamming, electronic warfare, and whatever secret they have in this specific one province, to make sure no more lives are lost due to the SAM sites.

Delta Force is the United States military's most capable and most unacknowledged direct action element, answering not to conventional Army command structures but to the Joint Special Operations Command and, when the work demands it, directly to the National Command Authority. Its existence, for most of its history, was neither confirmed nor denied.

The Assessment and Selection course filters for this profile through deliberate exhaustion and uncertainty, presenting candidates with tasks that have no right solutions and watching what they do. Many candidates who are excellent soldiers do not pass. Capability is necessary but insufficient. The operators who remain are selected because if they don't break during assessment, they won't falter one bit during actual combat.

SA-22 Pantsir-S1 Air Defense Network: Multiple systems positioned across the northern highlands, sited by GRU advisors on terrain chosen for maximum corridor coverage. Not all of them are destroyed before Iron Shepherd launches. This is the fact that damages one MH-60M and does not down it, and that makes every pilot in the task force fly the entire mission aware that the sky is not fully clear.

Liwa al-Imam Brigade — Iranian-Backed Militia: Five thousand Iranian-backed fighters operating as a regime auxiliary force throughout the country. Their presence in the northern highlands is assessed as limited but non-zero. They do not appear in the task force's primary threat picture.
