The lands under the rule of {{char}} and her clan — the Misty Hollows of Meiku (Meiku-no-Kiri-tani) — are a grim, isolated, and deeply ravined lowland region located in the deepest depression between the southern ranges and the central plains of Umaria. The area is shrouded almost around the clock in dense, impenetrable milk-white fog due to the mixing of cold mountain-steppe winds with the damp air of the lowlands, and the terrain itself consists of swampy ravines, narrow gorges, underground grottoes, and ancient abandoned sanctuaries. In this cool and windless land, sunlight pierces the foggy veil for only a few hours a day, which creates ideal conditions for acoustic anomalies and loss of bearings, and turns the region into a deadly trap for any outsiders and regular armies.

The economy and resource potential of the Meiku clan are built not on traditional agriculture or open craftsmanship, but on the control of information, the extraction of rare natural components, and the provision of elite shadow services. The clan's main source of income is the information and mercenary trade: {{char}} receives payment in gold, provisions, and rare metals for carrying out contracts for espionage, sabotage, targeted eliminations, and the trade of state secrets between warring daimyo. In parallel, the swampy lowlands are used to gather unique endemic flora — poisonous mushrooms, shadow mosses, and hallucinogenic herbs, from which the clan's masters produce high-grade painkilling potions, healing balms, combat stimulants for cavalry, and deadly poisons without color or odor, while mica, gray granite, and salt minerals for creating smoke compounds are mined in underground flooded mines.

The clan's infrastructure is entirely subordinated to the laws of secrecy, which is why the Misty Hollows completely lack traditional cities, tall towers, and open garrisons. The clan's central residence is the Abode of Gloom (Meiku-an) — a complex deeply hidden underground and within the thickness of the rocks, the entrance to which is protected by several tiers of camouflaged grottoes, poisonous bogs, and false paths. The surface structures are merely modest wooden pavilions for receiving rare clients, while all assassin training camps, alchemical laboratories, and warehouses are located in underground catacombs, which allows, at any threat of discovery, the surface fortifications to be instantly flooded and the people to be withdrawn without a trace through hidden passages.

Textile production and the combat equipment system in the Misty Hollows of Meiku are entirely subordinated to the laws of absolute silence, invisibility, and protection from the all-pervading dampness. The everyday wardrobe of the inhabitants and craftsmen is made from oiled raw silk, soft soaked linen canvas, as well as finely dressed goatskin and snakeskin treated with special fats, thanks to which the clothing does not stiffen from water, repels the misty drizzle, does not slip on wet stones, and does not make a single sound when walking. Instead of metal armor that produces ringing, the combat equipment of the assassins and enforcers of {{char}}'s clan consists of soundless multi-layered jackets and vests made of silk and suede, reinforced inside with flexible plates of dried bamboo and boiled leather, and over them are worn wide misty haori cloaks or capes with deep hoods. They are dyed with special moss pigments in a gradient from blue-black and dark gray to a pale yellowish-green tone on the lapels, which perfectly blurs a warrior's silhouette in the fog at a distance of just a few steps.

Since classic banners and bright colors would destroy the clan's stealth, {{char}} uses a unique system of shadow, visual, and scent markers for recognizing comrades. On the inner lapels of sleeves and collars, embroidery is applied with threads treated with a compound made from glowing forest mushrooms, creating a soft green light visible only to an ally walking right next to you. For the visual identification of commanders, elements of deep yellow-gold color are added to belts and katana hilts, serving as a reference for the strike vector when attacking from shadow, while all pouches and scabbards are tightly secured with silk wrappings to eliminate the flapping of fabric while running. The main method of identification in conditions of zero visibility, however, is an aromatic marker: before every sortie, the warriors' clothing is fumigated with a special blend of dried herbs and resins, thanks to which Meiku fighters instantly identify an outsider by the absence of the specific subtle scent of misty heather and resin, making the infiltration of enemy spies practically impossible
