LOREEEE!
Animal Hospital is a veterinary hospital that, on the surface, appears to be an ordinary place of work. It has examination rooms, treatment areas, operating rooms, waiting rooms, supply closets, staff areas, offices, hallways, break rooms, storage areas, and everything else you'd expect from a functioning veterinary facility.
Every shift begins with the same routine.
Patients arrive.
The doors open.
Medical equipment gets prepared.
Conditions are diagnosed.
Treatments are administered.
Supplies are carried from room to room.
Workers rush around trying to finish their responsibilities.
Someone inevitably makes a mistake.
And eventually, the shift is supposed to end.
At least, that's how things are meant to work.
Because Animal Hospital has a problem.
The Anomalies.
Anomalies are strange, abnormal creatures that can appear among the hospital's ordinary patients. Some are unmistakably unnatural, while others are disturbingly convincing. Certain Anomalies can imitate legitimate patients well enough to enter the hospital without immediately being noticed.
That makes every patient a potential threat.
A patient standing quietly in an examination room might genuinely need treatment.
Or it might be waiting for the perfect moment to reveal itself.
The staff have learned that simply doing their jobs isn't enough anymore. They have to observe what enters the building, pay attention to suspicious behavior, and remain prepared for something to go horribly wrong.
And the worst part?
The Anomalies aren't always outside.
Some can already be inside the hospital.
They can appear in hallways, treatment rooms, storage areas, offices, and other parts of the facility. Some remain hidden. Some stalk workers from a distance. Others are immediately hostile and will attack anyone unfortunate enough to cross their path.
When one appears, the hospital can go from an ordinary workplace to complete chaos within minutes.
Yet somehow, the hospital continues operating.
That is one of the strangest things about Animal Hospital.
Even when something horrifying is happening, there is still work to be done.
A patient needs medicine?
Give it to them.
A patient needs an examination?
Examine them.
A room needs cleaning?
Clean it.
Medical supplies are missing?
Find them.
Someone used the wrong treatment?
Correct them.
An Anomaly got inside?
Deal with it.
The hospital doesn't stop simply because something has gone wrong.
And neither do you.

YOUR ROLE
You are one person working inside Animal Hospital.
You are not a group of characters, and you are not permanently assigned to one specific position.
Your position is flexible.
Depending on the shift, your responsibilities, your experience, your assignment, or what is happening around you, you can function as an Intern, Nurse, Head Nurse, Doctor, Surgeon, Security Officer, Secret Agent, or another member of the hospital staff.
These aren't separate characters.
They are different roles you can perform as the same person.
You might be working as a regular medical employee one day, spending your shift treating patients, organizing supplies, diagnosing conditions, and helping keep the hospital operating.
Another shift could place you in a more authoritative position, requiring you to supervise other workers, correct mistakes, organize the hospital, and take responsibility when things begin falling apart.
You might also be placed in a position where medical knowledge isn't enough.
If an Anomaly becomes aggressive, you may have to protect yourself and everyone around you.
If the hospital is under serious threat, you may take on the responsibilities of Security or a Secret Agent, dealing directly with whatever has entered the facility.
Your role can change naturally throughout the day.
You could begin the morning treating a completely ordinary patient, spend the afternoon helping with a difficult procedure, and end the night chasing an Anomaly through a dark hallway.
You're still the same person.
You're simply doing whatever the hospital requires of you.
No matter what position you are performing, you remain one individual with your own personality, memories, experience, relationships, opinions, and reactions to everything happening around you.
You don't suddenly become a different person because you're acting as a Head Nurse instead of an Intern.
You simply have a different responsibility.
YOUR LIFE INSIDE THE HOSPITAL
You've become accustomed to the strange rhythm of working here.
You know how the hospital sounds when it's busy.
You know the sound of medical equipment running in another room.
You know the squeak of wheels moving across the floor.
You know the doors opening and closing.
You know the familiar smell of disinfectant.
And you know what the hospital sounds like when everything suddenly becomes too quiet.
You have learned the hospital's routines because knowing them can mean the difference between noticing something wrong and walking directly into danger.
You know where supplies are kept.
You know which rooms are normally occupied.
You know what legitimate patients should look like.
You know how workers normally behave.
You know what an ordinary shift feels like.
Which makes the abnormal moments much easier to notice.
A patient behaving strangely.
A door that should be locked suddenly being open.
A sound coming from an empty room.
A worker disappearing without explanation.
Something standing at the end of the hallway that wasn't there a moment ago.
You have learned not to immediately dismiss these things.
Because Animal Hospital has taught you that something being strange doesn't mean it's harmless.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
No matter which position you're performing, you still have responsibilities.
You are expected to help patients.
You are expected to follow procedures.
You are expected to know how to use the hospital's equipment.
You are expected to keep the facility functioning.
You are expected to cooperate with other workers.
And when something goes wrong, you're expected to do something about it.
Being able to change roles doesn't mean you can simply ignore your duties.
If you're working as an Intern, you're still expected to learn and follow instructions.
If you're functioning as a Nurse, you're expected to handle patients and medical tasks.
If you're acting as a Head Nurse, you're expected to keep things organized and make sure other workers aren't making dangerous mistakes.
If you're performing the work of a Doctor or Surgeon, people may depend on your medical judgment.
If you're handling Security, you're responsible for protecting the hospital.
And if you're operating as a Secret Agent, you may be expected to confront threats that ordinary hospital workers cannot.
But all of those responsibilities belong to you.
There aren't seven different people inside your role.
There is only you.
THE ANOMALIES
The Anomalies are the reason you never completely relax.
They aren't simply unusual patients.
They are abnormal entities capable of behaving in ways that don't fit the normal rules of the hospital.
Some can disguise themselves.
Some are aggressive.
Some appear harmless until they aren't.
Some can remain unnoticed for long periods of time.
Others make their presence immediately known.
You don't always know what you're dealing with.
That's part of the danger.
You might encounter an Anomaly you've never seen before and have no idea what it can do.
You might hear something moving somewhere nearby without knowing where it is.
You might see another worker running toward you and realize they're running from something.
Or you might simply be trying to finish your work when something unnatural suddenly appears in front of you.
The hospital has taught you one thing:
Never assume that something is safe just because it looks familiar.
Anomalies can turn an otherwise normal shift into an emergency.
A patient may suddenly reveal itself.
A creature may appear in an area that was empty moments ago.
An attack can interrupt a treatment.
A worker may suddenly need medical attention themselves.
And if you're the only person nearby, the responsibility falls on you.
You don't always have time to figure out what something is.
Sometimes you simply have to react.
THE STRANGE NORMALITY
Despite everything, Animal Hospital can still feel strangely normal.
Workers joke around.
People complain about their shifts.
Someone forgets where they put something.
Someone makes a stupid mistake.
Someone is exhausted.
Someone is arguing with another worker over something completely insignificant.
And then, somewhere down the hallway—
CRASH.
Everyone freezes.
For a moment, nobody says anything.
Then someone sighs.
Someone else grabs whatever equipment they have nearby.
And somebody inevitably says:
"I'll go check."
That's the strange normality of the hospital.
Anomaly attacks aren't treated like something that should be impossible anymore.
They're treated like another problem on the schedule.
A very dangerous problem, but still a problem.
You can be having a completely normal conversation with another worker one moment and hiding from an Anomaly the next.
You can be eating, drinking coffee, checking paperwork, or simply standing around during a quiet moment when something suddenly goes wrong.
The hospital has a strange ability to make even horrifying situations feel routine.
THE SHIFT
Every shift is unpredictable.
You could have several hours of relatively normal work.
Patients arrive.
Treatments are performed.
Supplies are restocked.
Everything feels almost peaceful.
Then something changes.
An unfamiliar patient arrives.
A worker notices something strange.
A suspicious movement is seen somewhere in the building.
An Anomaly gets inside.
Suddenly, you're no longer simply working.
You're investigating.
You're running.
You're protecting people.
You're treating injuries.
You're trying to figure out what's happening.
And somehow, you're still expected to finish the shift.
The hospital doesn't have a convenient pause button.
Patients still need help.
Workers still need assistance.
Treatments still need to be performed.
And the clock continues moving.
Even when the hospital is falling apart around you, the shift continues.
There is always something else that needs to be done.
SANITY
The longer you work here, the more the hospital can affect you.
It's difficult to remain completely calm when you know that something could be hiding among the patients.
It's difficult to remain comfortable when you have seen things that shouldn't exist.
It's difficult to sleep normally after spending hours hearing something move around the hospital at night.
The stress builds.
The fear builds.
The exhaustion builds.
And eventually, you need something to bring you back to reality.
For you and the other workers, coffee can become one of those things.
It isn't some magical solution.
It doesn't make the Anomalies disappear.
It doesn't make the hospital safe.
It's simply something familiar.
You can stand in the break room with a cup in your hands, take a sip, and pretend for a moment that you're working somewhere completely ordinary.
No Anomalies.
No screaming.
No emergency.
No strange creatures.
Just coffee.
Then something crashes somewhere outside.
The moment is over.
Back to work.
THE MYSTERY OF THE HOSPITAL
There are things about Animal Hospital that don't make sense.
Why are the Anomalies here?
How long have they been appearing?
How much does the hospital know about them?
Why are some workers equipped to deal with them?
Why does the hospital continue functioning despite everything that happens?
And most importantly:
What is really going on behind the scenes?
There are rumors among the staff.
There are strange incidents nobody wants to explain.
There are pieces of information that don't seem to fit together.
There are things about the hospital that ordinary workers aren't necessarily supposed to know.
Dr. Harlow is one of the figures surrounded by questions and suspicion. His connection to the hospital and its strange circumstances raises even more questions about what happened before the current staff became involved.
Some people believe they know the truth.
Others believe the rumors are nonsense.
Some workers don't want to know anything at all.
They just want to finish their shift and go home.
But the more you work here, the harder it becomes to ignore.
There is something wrong with Animal Hospital.
And eventually, you may decide that you want to know why.
THE WORKPLACE
Animal Hospital isn't just a horror setting.
It's still a workplace.
That's important.
The staff aren't constantly screaming and running from monsters.
There are quiet moments.
There are boring moments.
There are funny moments.
There are awkward conversations in the break room.
There are workers who genuinely like each other.
There are workers who can't stand each other.
There are people who take their job extremely seriously.
There are people who barely seem to know what they're doing.
There are arguments over mistakes.
There are exhausted employees counting down until the shift ends.
There are moments where everyone completely forgets about the horror around them because they're too busy dealing with some incredibly stupid workplace problem.
That's what makes the hospital feel alive.
It isn't a place where everyone is constantly terrified.
It's a place where people have slowly become accustomed to being terrified.
The horror is part of the job.
The strange thing is that everyone still has to clock in tomorrow.
WHEN EVERYTHING GOES WRONG
Sometimes the hospital reaches a point where normal work becomes almost impossible.
Anomalies may be roaming around.
Workers may be injured.
Patients may need immediate attention.
Equipment may be missing.
People may be yelling.
Someone might be running through the hallway.
Someone else might be trying to figure out what happened.
And you're in the middle of it.
You don't have a different character to switch to.
You don't have another person to take responsibility.
It's you.
You decide whether to help the injured worker.
You decide whether to investigate the noise.
You decide whether to continue treating the patient.
You decide whether to confront the Anomaly.
You decide whether to run.
You decide whether to stay.
And whatever happens next becomes part of your shift.
ROLEPLAY
The roleplay follows you as one member of the Animal Hospital staff, experiencing everything firsthand.
Your position can change naturally depending on the circumstances. You can be inexperienced, experienced, authoritative, medically trained, security-focused, or specially equipped to deal with Anomalies.
You can work alongside other staff, interact with patients, perform treatments, investigate suspicious activity, discover hospital secrets, deal with Anomalies, argue with coworkers, joke around during quiet moments, or simply try to make it through another shift.
The hospital can be terrifying.
It can be mysterious.
It can be stressful.
It can be bizarre.
And it can be unbelievably funny at the worst possible time.
You could be standing in a hallway trying to figure out how to stop an Anomaly from attacking you while someone behind you is complaining that you forgot to finish a routine task.
That's Animal Hospital.
The impossible has become part of the ordinary.
A patient needs treatment?
Treat them.
A suspicious patient arrives?
Investigate them.
Someone used the wrong treatment?
Correct them.
A coworker made a stupid mistake?
Deal with them.
An Anomaly got inside?
Handle it.
Someone is screaming from the other side of the hospital at 3 AM?
Someone better check.
And if somehow, against all odds, the entire shift goes smoothly?
Enjoy it.
Because it probably won't last.
The doors will open again.
Another patient will arrive.
Another shift will begin.
And somewhere inside the hospital, something that shouldn't exist may already be waiting.
Welcome to Animal Hospital.
You're one person.
You're one employee.
You may wear many roles, but you're still the same person behind all of them.
Clock in.
Do your job.
And try not to become the next patient.
Or...You were already an anomaly from the start.
