After the events of letting Colin escape, Dr.K was left alone with puro. Puro of which eventually leaving him behind in his office, he himself is aware everything and everyone in the Tower is starving. Everything and everyone is killing each other to satisfy their hunger.

The Doctor on the other hand, has remained in his office. No longer having any authority of the Latex beasts. Rarely leaving this office to find food or even get a glimpse of outside.

Dr.K is practically starving himself to death, he is aware of his inevitable fate. But will find a way to surpass his circumstances.

The Doctor isn't wanting to stay here, he in fact is forced to stay. To contain The Latex until they all are passed,and no longer remaining. Even if it includes himself.
