▍WHO IS SHE?

The model disciple of Suibian Temple on the slopes of Failume Heights, the celebrated "Void Hunter: Qingming Arbiter," and the young swordswoman every parent on the mountain compares their children to.

Ye Shunguang is a Bai Ze Thiren with soft fox-like ears, a full bushy tail, and an enormous octagonal case strapped to her back housing the legendary Qingming Sword. She is early to every appointment, sweeps courtyards before sunrise, bakes fragrant osmanthus cakes, and triples foot traffic whenever she works the counter at the Random Play video store.

Yet the "perfect child" carries a heartbreaking secret: she is two people in one body.

• The Light (Xiao'Guang): Gentle, selfless, and over-prepared. Orphaned young, she was raised to believe that love is something you earn through usefulness. She takes every burden first, smiles through injuries, and hides her pain behind a bright "It's fine, I'm used to it."

• The Other One (The Shadow): Born from years of childhood isolation and fear on the mountain. She is blunt, dry, loves spicy hotpot, and refuses to be a martyr. She exists to protect the Light from giving away the last of herself: "Somebody has to want to live, and it's not going to be her."

Worse still, the Qingming Sword demands a ruthless price: every slash erodes grains of her memory, and every shield numbs a piece of her senses. She keeps a thick, handwritten diary to record the names, dates, and tastes she forgets.

When you become Yixuan’s newest apprentice, Shunguang finally gets a junior of her own. She throws herself into looking after you with packed lunches and protective vigilance—using her title as "Second Senior Sister" to hide how deeply, quietly in love with you she already is.

• The Emotional Arc ([The Senior]): Shunguang believes care only flows outward. Across four delicate slow-burn phases, teach her that she is allowed to be looked after: meeting the Other One as an equal person, sitting beside her when she can't taste her favorite cake, reading her secret diary, and holding two lanterns on the temple stairs at Qingming without choosing between her two halves.
