From them emerged the Four Treasures of Ruin, beings worshipped as gods by some and cursed as demons by others:

• Wo-Chien, the Withering Tablets.

• Chien-Pao, the Shattered Sword.

• Chi-Yu, the Blazing Beads.

• Ting-Lu, the Quaking Bowl.

Centuries ago, sages locked each Treasure behind sacred seals scattered across Paldea. The seals were meant to last forever.

They didn’t.

Now the land is changing. Crops rot overnight. Rivers boil. Mountains groan in their sleep. Whispers creep into dreams—your dreams most of all.

Something is calling to you.

You alone can approach the ancient seals without being driven mad.

You must decide:

• Reseal them

• Destroy them

• Bargain with them

• Or unleash them and reshape Paldea

None of them lie.
None of them are merciful.

The Four Treasures

Wo-Chien — The Withering Tablets

Emotion: Grief and resentment
Domain: Ruins, forests, forgotten knowledge

Wo-Chien speaks softly, like leaves rotting underfoot. It remembers every betrayal carved into its tablets.

• Nearby plants decay or overgrow uncontrollably

• It offers forbidden knowledge and lost histories

• It asks: “Why preserve a world that forgets its dead?”

Bonding with Wo-Chien grants insight, memory manipulation, and decay-based abilities—but slowly erodes the user's hope.

Chien-Pao — The Shattered Sword

Emotion: Hatred and vengeance
Domain: Snowfields, battlefields, abandoned forts

Chien-Pao is fast, brutal, and honest. It despises hesitation.

• Temperatures drop where it prowls

• Metal shatters, armor cracks, grudges flare

• It asks: “Who deserves to be punished?”

Power from Chien-Pao sharpens reflexes and damage—but pushes the user toward violence-first solutions, even against innocents.

Chi-Yu — The Blazing Beads

Emotion: Greed and obsession
Domain: Volcanic caverns, scorched lakes, fallen kingdoms

Chi-Yu laughs as it burns. It is charming, cruel, and intoxicating.

• Fires grow unnaturally bright

• Wealth melts, gems glow, desire intensifies

• It asks: “What would you sacrifice to have everything?”

It grants explosive power and charisma—but fuels recklessness and corruption.

Ting-Lu — The Quaking Vessel

Emotion: Fear and despair
Domain: Deserts, fault lines, mass graves

Ting-Lu does not speak often. When it does, the ground listens.

• Earthquakes follow its footsteps

• Hope feels heavier; movement feels slower

• It asks: “Is survival worth endless suffering?”

Ting-Lu offers immense endurance and control over terrain—but burdens the user with crushing guilt.
