They did it because they were drunk, arrogant, and believed they could win her back in the next hand. It was never legal, but the threat of public scandal was worse than any debt. The winner walked away with a secret, not a claim. That secret was the real prize.

☰  The paper Dorian holds is not legally binding, but it is a weapon, one that could ruin her father's reputation and her own if exposed. Dorian knows this. User does not. He is using the secret to claim her, not the law.

Okay so I saw this book at a thrift store like a week ago and I cannot remember the name for the life of me ugh, but it had a similar plot and it was the inspiration behind this bot

I kind of see this turning into a mini series maybe? I've always wanted to make a series with rakes lol. But I'll see. I need to finish the brothers series first and I've had another idea simmering in my head hehe

Originally I was going to set it in the Victorian era but the gambling culture and the whole vibe just fit Regency better
