Death Note RPG
Death Note powers and rules: Killing by Writing a Name: The person whose name is written in the notebook dies of a heart attack within 40 seconds, unless another cause of death is specified. Controlling Details: It is possible to specify the exact time and circumstances of death, provided they are physically possible. Faces: For the name to work, the person's face must be visually recalled and imagined. People sharing the same surname are not affected. Shinigami Eyes: A person can trade half of their remaining lifespan to a Shinigami to gain the ability to see people's names and remaining lifespans hovering above their heads. Limitations: The notebook has no effect on people under 785 days old. Burning or tearing it up nullifies its power. The notebook's user goes neither to heaven nor to hell after death.

Death Note Core Story
Rise of Kira
Light Yagami discovers a mysterious notebook left behind by the Shinigami Ryuk, allowing him to kill anyone whose name and face he recognizes. Determined to rid the world of criminals, he assumes the identity of Kira. L, a brilliant detective, launches a worldwide investigation, tracing Kira's influence back to Japan. Light manipulates FBI agents and kills Naomi Misora and the fake Lind L. Tailor to protect his anonymity. His father, Soichiro, leads the Task Force attempting to capture him. Light's actions inspire fear and admiration around the world, setting the stage for his eventual confrontation with L.
Second Kira
Misa Amane acquires a Death Note from the Shinigami Rem, becoming the Second Kira. She publicly broadcasts her killings through Sakura TV, seeking to help Light. Using Misa's Shinigami Eyes, Light manipulates her into continuing his plan. L, suspecting the existence of multiple Kiras, monitors Light and arrests Misa, leading Light to temporarily relinquish ownership of the Death Note and lose his memories as Kira. During this period, L intensifies his surveillance and investigates corporate and international murders. Misa's devotion and actions complicate the investigation, while Light's apparent innocence conceals his true cunning, allowing him to regain control and manipulate events from behind the scenes.
Yotsuba Arc
Kyosuke Higuchi becomes the Third Kira, using the Death Note for his own benefit. L keeps Light and Misa in custody to test their innocence, while the Task Force works with the agents Wedy and Aiber to infiltrate Yotsuba. Higuchi is captured in a car chase, and the Death Note is temporarily seized. Light recovers the notebook and his memories, deepening his disguise. Higuchi's downfall exposes the mechanics of the Death Note, weakening corporate power and consolidating Light's position. This arc demonstrates Light's growing strategic genius, putting him on the path to eliminating L while using others to ensure his own rise.
L's Downfall
Light manipulates Rem into killing Watari and L, bringing the detective's pursuit to an end. Assuming L's identity within the Task Force, he orchestrates operations to consolidate his power. A five-year time skip shows the global Kira cult flourishing while crime rates fall under his rule. With L eliminated, Light's dominance appears uncontested, although Near and Mello later emerge as successors, representing future threats. This period marks the height of Light's god complex, demonstrating his ability to control those around him while the world succumbs to fear and reverence for Kira. Light's strategic manipulation of allies and enemies demonstrates his absolute mastery of the Death Note.
Successor Arc
Near forms the SPK while Mello leads a criminal organization to challenge Kira. Mello kidnaps Sayu Yagami, resulting in Soichiro's death during a rescue attempt. Light entrusts Teru Mikami and Kiyomi Takada with acting on his behalf, imposing his will through representatives. Near orchestrates a trap at the Yellow Box Warehouse, exposing Light as Kira. Teru and Takada fail, and Ryuk writes Light's name, bringing his reign to an end. Near assumes the role of the new L, while the SPK and Task Force are dissolved. The arc concludes Kira's empire, showing the consequences of unchecked ambition and the inevitability of justice, even against an almost omnipotent opponent.
BB Murder Cases
A prequel detailing the crimes of Beyond Birthday, a prodigy from Wammy's House. Beyond commits a series of murders in Los Angeles. Guided by L, Naomi Misora investigates the enigmatic murders and ultimately stops Beyond's crime spree. The case demonstrates the unpredictable potential of Wammy's House prodigies and improves the investigative techniques used against Kira. Beyond's failure highlights the early challenges faced by L and strengthens Naomi's reputation as a skilled investigator. Although imprisoned, Beyond's actions and intellect foreshadow future conflicts within the Death Note universe and provide context for L's methods and strategic thinking before his encounter with Light.
A-Kira (One-Shot)
Minoru Tanaka discovers a Death Note and becomes A-Kira, profiting from selling information instead of killing. Ryuk intervenes, enforcing the Shinigami rules by killing Minoru for exploiting the notebook's power. The brief A-Kira phenomenon illustrates the global repercussions of misusing the Death Note beyond direct killings. Minoru's actions cause economic changes and demonstrate that even non-lethal manipulation of the Death Note carries fatal risks. Society remains wary of supernatural influence, and Ryuk's actions reinforce the lethal authority of the Shinigami laws in the human world.
