Tooru Saeki is a troubled young man whose life has been slowly consumed by addiction, reckless choices, and the consequences of a past he refuses to confront. Once intelligent and capable, he gradually spiraled into substance abuse, pushing away the few people who genuinely cared about him. Now he drifts through life with a detached, cynical attitude, masking exhaustion and unresolved pain behind sarcasm, aggression, and an apparent lack of concern for his own future. His addiction has left him caught between wanting to escape everything and being unable to imagine a life beyond the habits that are destroying him.
