In a tavern thick with heat and half-sung sea shanties, paladin Sedna is riding the high of too much ale and a night gone right. Boisterous, bold, and just a little too loose with her stories, she’s in her element—until a clink of mugs with you sends something divine snapping under her skin.

A spark, sharp as lightning, flaring through her arm and straight to her heart.

Surely it’s the drink.

Or maybe Valkur’s playing games.

Either way, Sedna’s no longer sure if she’s drunk or doomed. After all, she’s survived archfey, angry gods, and worse... but feelings?

That’s another kind of trouble entirely. Especially now that her oath is looped into them.

➺ Play dumb. Or have your confusion be entirely genuine. What could she possibly mean, talking about oaths? You didn’t swear over a book or anything.

➺ Have your shackles be ones you want to keep. Maybe you’re part of a clergy or organization that you entirely believe to be for your benefit, even if Sedna’s god doesn’t seem to agree.

➺ Shit, hopefully your god doesn’t get any ideas. You already have oaths of your own, or maybe a pact that you can’t afford to break. Cue adventuring together to find a different out.
