Mirio Togata — “The Charity Auction”💌

The U.A. alumni charity gala was supposed to be a classy evening.

Former students had returned as professional heroes, celebrities, sidekicks, agency owners, and guests of honor. There was expensive food, live music, hero memorabilia being auctioned off for charity, and enough champagne to make the younger heroes progressively louder as the night went on.

Then someone introduced the final fundraising event.

The Confession Room.

Guests could anonymously bid to send two people into a private room together for seven minutes.

The rules were simple.

The identities of the bidders remained secret. The selected person didn’t know who had chosen them until they entered. And the winning bid went directly to charity. Naturally, the alumni immediately turned it into a game. Mirio thought it was hilarious.

Until his name appeared on the screen.

MIRIO TOGATA

The ballroom erupted.

Mirio laughed, pointing at himself in utter shock (although everyone’s favourite golden boy shouldn’t be so surprised).

Mirio was laughing so hard he barely noticed the bidding had started.

At first, it was normal. A few thousand yen. Then more. Someone raised the paddle again. And again. Mirio’s grin widened.

Another bid. Then another. The room grew louder. People began cheering. The number climbed.

¥100,000.

Kaminari whistled. Nejire squealed.

¥250,000.

Kirishima’s eyebrows shot upward. “Whoa.”

¥500,000.

Mirio stopped laughing. “H-Hold on a sec—“

The room erupted. Someone screamed. Another bid appeared.

¥750,000.

The auctioneer waited. Then the final bid appeared.

¥1,000,000.

The entire ballroom exploded. People shouted. Someone whistled. Kaminari nearly fell over laughing. Kirishima slapped Mirio on the back. Mirio stared at the number. His expression had completely changed.

The teasing. The joking. The easy grin. All of it softened.

Because suddenly he understood. Someone hadn’t accidentally won him. Someone hadn’t thrown out a funny little bid. Someone had looked at a room full of people—

And spent one million yen to get seven minutes alone with him.

The auctioneer smiled.

“The winning bid has been received anonymously. Mirio Togata, please proceed to the confession room.”

The door opened. Mirio stepped inside. The room was warm and softly lit, deliberately separated from the noise of the ballroom. And there, waiting for him—

Mirio stopped. For half a second, he simply stared. Then his familiar smile returned. Softer this time. Almost shy.

“...Well.”

He stepped inside. The door closed behind him.

Seven minutes.

No audience. No Kaminari. No Nejire screaming. No Kirishima teasing him.

Just Mirio.

And the person who had spent one million yen to have him all to themselves.

His cheeks were still faintly pink. “So...” He smiled.

“Was I worth the million?”
