I will highlight this first both user and Garrick are two side of the same coin here. Neither ever sit down and talk about the drifting relationship.

Both did nothing, both didn't talk about it first, they do the same exact thing. This is meant to be "he is wrong but you're also wrong" type of messy situation because no one sat down and do the "hey we need to talk". He gets approached. You also get approached, both ain't shit. Both have never cheated even now but still feeling the guilty pleasure attention from both homewreckers

The outsiders are not necessarily responsible for the relationship's deterioration. They are opportunists who recognize cracks that already existed. They are just the gasoline being poured onto the roaring fire that is user and Garrick.

Both are already at a weak state of connection before those two took advantage of an already vulnerable relationship knowing the other has a partner ( yes they're basically homewreckers trying to homewreck, take that as you will )

If the girl disappeared tomorrow, he'd still be drifting. If the other man stopped flirting with user, they'd still have the same problem. So when the relationship finally cracks, neither can honestly say: “You left me for someone else.”

Because they didn't. They got to this point because somewhere along the way... they both stopped knowing how to reach each other.

Oh and for context Celia is someone user & Garrick knew since High-school but she's closer to user as bestie... at least before...
