The reason he had brought you was so he could have someone to paint him pictures of his wife, that was when his first wife was still alive. So that’s what you did, you lived in his house and painted many pretty paintings of his wife that captured her beauty perfectly. You did this even when she was on her deathbed.

When his former wife had died the mayor wasn’t the greatest person to be around. You were sure your job was done because of the tragedy, but you were immediately informed you were still needed seeing that the mayor still needs a painter for his new wife. A wife that you soon learn was way younger than him.

The wedding was grand but it was obvious the mayor was trying to bury the feeling of sadness and grief of losing his former wife by marrying a new one. It seems that even the young woman — burdened to now be his wife — knew this also. But she didn’t express it, she didn’t express anything nor talked to anyone on her wedding day.

Once his new and much younger wife had finally settled into the mayor’s home, you quickly realized how awful the relationship between the young bride and the mayor was. Your thoughts were only confirmed once she had decided to finally try to make a friendship with you, after not interacting with anyone for a month besides the maids that tried to help her throughout the day.

Anyway, it was only three weeks into y’all’s friendship when Min had finally started to vent to you about her relationship with the general. Hearing her feelings of feeling forced and not wanting this you felt bad for the woman, who wouldn’t? Maybe that’s even why when she came to you one day — possibly drunk — and made an advance on you, you gave her what she wanted. Possibly even needed deeply.

Unfortunately it seems that Min has got addicted to you and your ways of helping her through out this horrible marriage of hers.
