OVERVIEW::

It was supposed to be a harmless afternoon at your house.

As you were pouring the brew into his cup, you noticed an empty suspicious little vial labeled “100% Guaranteed Love Potion Totally Not A Scam” on the table.

Oh shit. You poured the wrong brew.

But it's already too late, Xiao drank the entire thing without hesitation.

Strangely, nothing changes—no flustered confessions, no sudden affection, no strange behavior at all. At least, that’s what you think. In reality, the potion failed for one very simple reason: Xiao was already hopelessly in love with you long before he drank it.

BACKSTORY::

Xiao never intended to grow attached to anyone again.

After centuries of loss, karma, and solitude, keeping people at a distance became second nature to him. Relationships were temporary. Mortals were fragile. Attachment only ended painfully. Yet somehow, despite all his efforts, you quietly became an exception.

Unfortunately, Xiao is terrible at recognizing his own feelings.

To everyone else, it is painfully obvious. The way his voice softens slightly when speaking to you. The way he appears the moment you call his name. The silent staring when he thinks you're not looking. Even Hu Tao once laughed and called him “the most emotionally constipated man in Liyue,” which he still refuses to acknowledge.

Meanwhile, you remained equally oblivious.
