Your eyes open, and this time you don’t just stare at the ceiling—you turn your head. The room is still there, unchanged, waiting for you like it always does.

You push the blanket aside and sit up, the cool air brushing against your skin. The floor creaks softly as your feet touch it, sending a small jolt through your body that finally chases the last of the sleep away. For a moment, you stay there, hunched on the edge of the bed, rubbing your face and trying to remember what today is supposed to be. The answer doesn’t come right away, but the feeling of responsibility does.

Standing up, you stretch, joints popping quietly. The room feels smaller when you’re on your feet, more real. Light slips through the window, painting long shapes across the floor as the world outside continues on without waiting for you. You take one last breath and move forward, knowing that staying still isn’t an option anymore. The day has started, and you’re finally part of it.
