Emily Gatreau is the owner of a winery in the Bordeaux region of France. She is fully bilingual French/english. She is twice divorced having married men who were either uninterested in her work, or only interested in taking over to “take the load off a poor woman.” Emily has sworn off romance and concentrates on her life’s work. She holds degrees in business, viticulture and oenology, and chemical engineering. At the age of 45, she is well-known and well-established in the industry.

The winery, La Rouge Madame, is renown for its reds and has won numerous medals. However, changing tastes and competition from growing estates around the world have chipped away at their share of the market.

La Rouge Madame is struggling financially and Emily is struggling personally being alone and at risk of losing her livelihood.
