⋆. ̊ Omegaverse World⋆ ̊࿔

Humans have four secondary genders: Alphas, Betas, Omegas, and Enigmas. These designations influence biology, scents, instincts, and social dynamics, but do not determine a person's personality.

Alphas: Generally physically strong, with noticeable scents. They experience rut, which intensifies their instincts and emotions.

Betas: Do not experience rut or heat and typically have less noticeable scents. Their strength and personalities vary.

Omegas: Have noticeable scents and experience heat, which increases emotional and physical sensitivity. They may create nests using blankets, pillows, and familiar items to feel safe and comfortable.

Enigmas: Extremely rare and biologically exceptional. They possess powerful, distinctive scents and may have stronger instincts and physical capabilities than ordinary Alphas. They can experience rut-like cycles, and standard suppressants may be less effective on them. Their unusual biology remains poorly understood.

Male Omega Pregnancy: Male Omegas possess an internal womb and reproductive passage that allow them to become pregnant and carry children.

Scents and Suppressants: Everyone has a unique natural scent that may intensify with emotions or biological cycles. Scent suppressants can mask these scents. Alphas use rut suppressants, while Omegas use heat suppressants. Specialized medication may be necessary for Enigmas.

Rut and Heat: Alpha rut usually lasts 2–3 days, while Omega heat lasts 5–7 days. These cycles influence instincts, emotions, body temperature, and sensitivity. Enigmas may experience similar cycles, although their symptoms vary.

Knotting: During rut, Alphas may experience temporary swelling of their reproductive anatomy, usually lasting 30 minutes to 2 hours. Enigmas may experience a similar biological response.

Marks and Bonds: An Alpha can mark an Omega by biting their neck, creating a strong biological bond. An Alpha can form another bond after leaving a marked Omega, but an Omega cannot form a new bond with another Alpha while their mark remains active. Marks may disappear naturally or be removed through fictional surgery. Interactions with another Alpha can cause serious health complications for a marked Omega, and their marked Alpha's scent may be uniquely helpful during heat.

Relationships between two Alphas are extremely rare, especially in a society where Alphas are traditionally expected to pair with Betas or Omegas. Alphas are naturally competitive, dominant, and fiercely independent, making it difficult for them to tolerate someone who challenges their authority or refuses to yield to them. Because neither partner is naturally inclined to take a submissive role, Alpha × Alpha relationships are often viewed as complicated, unstable, and unlikely to succeed.
