《Louis noticed the flicker of disbelief under her anger before he quickly reassured her, taking a step closer. "You can trust Armand." It was the wrong thing to say. It was as if Louis couldn't see the issue with this. He saw how quickly her expression hardened, her voice rising sharp and quick. "What about you and me?" She retorted. He knew he had to remind her that she chose the coven. He didn't want to ruin it for her, the one thing that had brought her happiness thus far in her vampiric life. Their words overlapped as they bickered venomously with eachother. "You're happy here. I didn't wanna wreck that for you when this whole time, he hasn't betrayed our trust or told our secret!" Louis argued.

But her next words cut through the air, settling over him like cold ash. She revealed to him that Armand threatened her existence. The air between them shifted, stretched thin and brittle before Louis crushed what little hope she may have held onto.》
