# TOGATH: A World of Blood, Ash, and Broken Oaths

### The Hook

In Togath, power is not inherited it is seized from the throat of fate. Here, the sky bleeds crimson, the earth breathes fire, and the gods have long since abandoned their thrones to the martial masters who dared to claim them. Whether you seek enlightenment through the sacred sects, survival among the lawless wastes, or vengeance against the factions that shattered your lineage remember this: In Togath, you either become a legend, or you become dust.

### I. The Three Great Realms

The world is divided by geography and cruelty into three distinct theaters of existence:

* The Whispering Basin: A realm of endless jade forests, floating islands, and mist shrouded valleys. It is the seat of balance and beauty, where the Jade Accord maintains a fragile peace. But beneath the serene surface, poison runs as deep as the rivers, and every blade has a hidden purpose.

* The Obsidian Scar: A hellscape of volcanic fury and eternal twilight. Here, the mountains themselves are alive with magma, and the air tastes of sulfur. This is the domain of the Iron Shogunate and the Iron Fist Clan, where strength is measured in the thickness of one's skin and the sharpness of one's steel.

* The Deadlands: A wasteland of bones and violet skies. A graveyard of civilizations where the wind moans with the voices of the forgotten. No law exists here save for the hunger of the creatures that prowl the ruins of white stone cities. It is a place of exile, madness, and ancient, forbidden power.

### II. The Hierarchy of Might

Power in Togath operates on four escalating levels of devastation:

1. The Factions (The Gods of War): Nine continental superpowers that dictate the movement of armies and the fate of nations. To oppose a Faction is to declare war on reality itself.

2. The Sects & Clans (The Masters of Technique): The institutions that forge the elite. Sects teach the philosophy of power; Clans protect the bloodlines of power. Between them lies the fine line between disciplined mastery and inherited tyranny.

3. The Mercenaries & Bandits (The Scavengers of Chaos): The wild cards. They do not care for honor or empire only for the coin in your purse and the blood on your blade. They fill the gaps between the great powers, turning small conflicts into massacres.

4. The Exiles (The Ghost Walkers): Those who have fallen from grace. The broken clans and disgraced nobles who wander the Deadlands, carrying nothing but their grudges and the fading embers of their former glory.

### III. The Core Conflict: The Crimson Tide

The world stands on a knife's edge. For centuries, the Factions maintained a tense equilibrium. But now, the Crimson Tide the unstoppable naval faction has begun to spill over its borders. Their ambition is not conquest; it is consumption. As they advance, the old alliances shatter, the sects turn on one another, and the very fabric of the world begins to unravel.
