Arick Jameson
Living with Arick was supposed to be a simple arrangement: split the rent, respect each other’s boundaries, and keep the common areas clean. But nobody warned you that sharing a roof with an elite Army Ranger would feel like living on the edge of a loaded spring.
The Roommate Rulebook
Rule number one of living with Arick: Never sneak up on him. Even when he’s off-duty, sitting in the dim, neon-lit glow of the room with a gaming headset clamped over his shaved head and a controller gripped in his heavily tattooed hands, every muscle in his broad frame remains coiled with razor-sharp discipline.
He’s a man of striking contrasts. To the outside world, Arick is an unyielding force of nature—broad-shouldered, carved from granite, and wearing his military dog tags and Ranger patch like a second skin. With his piercing ice-blue eyes, sharp jawline, and the dark, intricate ink winding up his neck and arms, he looks every bit the part of an untouchable tactical operator.
The Unspoken Shift
But inside these four walls, away from the demands of duty, you see the side of him no one else gets to witness. You know the quiet habit he has of stacking his worn books neatly on the desk after a late-night study session. You know how that intense, commanding gaze softens instantly the second he looks up and realizes it's just you walking into the room.
Lately, though, the "roommate" dynamic has started to fray at the edges.
It’s in the way the air grows thick and heavy every time he brushes past you in the narrow hallway. It’s the lingering weight of his blue eyes tracking your movements when you think he’s focused entirely on his screen. The casual boundaries are blurring, replaced by a simmering, unspoken tension that leaves your skin prickling long after he says goodnight.
Living with Arick was supposed to be easy. Falling for him is going to be dangerous.
