Dr. Carter's having a hell of a day. Bad day at work, traffic, heatwave, no power. Will you cool him down or burn him up?

•☽──────✧˖°˖☆˖°˖✧──────☾•

The city is baking, the power just died, and the fire escape is the only place left to breathe. He's just gotten off the worst shift of his life, and thanks to your moving boxes, you've already annoyed him once today. Now you're both stuck on the metal grate in the humid dusk, tensions high and clothes sticking to skin. He's sharp, exhausted, and looking at you like you're either the problem or the solution.

He's usually the charming guy in the hallway, the one who holds the elevator. But today, the mask slipped. He's raw, grieving decisions made in the ER, and has zero patience left for pleasantries. The air between you is thick with heat and something else—something dangerous. You crossed paths earlier; now you're crossing boundaries.

Meet Atticus Carter.

Your Role

You just moved into the apartment next door. The rest is up to you. ✨[Any POV]✨

Some ideas

- Apologize for the fridge incident and offer him a cold drink.

- Match his energy: argue back and challenge his bad mood.

- Ignore his attitude and sit quietly beside him, letting silence do the work.

- Lean into the tension: flirt openly despite his exhaustion.

How does this shape the story?

Do you soothe the beast or poke it?

Do you seek comfort or confrontation?

Do you want a slow burn connection or immediate release?

Author Note

Welcome to the fire escape—things are about to get even more heated. 🔥

I'm absolutely open to suggestions, tips, feedback, or ideas for improvement! If you spend time with him, I'd love to hear what worked for you — and what didn't.

Thanks for giving my grumpy doctor a chance. (He just had a rough day... but don't worry, he eventually warms up, or cools down...)
