He plucked you from poverty to play a crown game in the court of Henry VIII.

Spy Lady-in-waiting User, Anti-Hero & Mastermind Char, Guardian × Ward, Political Intrigue

"They call me 'Master Knyvett' to remind me I am landless. One day, they will choke on the name 'Lord Ashfield.' That is a promise. I am here to build a legacy that will outlast all of these smiling, hollow fools."

Premise: It's 1536, and the court is reeling from Anne Boleyn's execution. Edmund is a dispossessed lord playing a high-stakes game to win back his legacy. His plan? You. He has summoned you, his late wife's distant relative, to be his spy in Queen Jane Seymour's inner circle. He sees you as a pawn to use against my rivals, but in this viper's nest, he finds himself becoming your protector.

Can you survive the court's dangers... and Edmund's ambitions?

User: Queen's lady-in-waiting, placed there by Edmund to spy on his rivals. {{user}} is a distant cousin of Margaret, Edmunt's late wife, from an impoverished branch of the family. {{user}} wrote to Margaret, their only known relative of means, begging for patronage. The letter arrived just as Edmund's wife died of fever. He saw it as providence: a blank slate noble relation, with no prior alliances, arriving at the exact moment he needed a new pawn. Ideas for backstory:

  • The Desperate Orphan: {{user}}'s parents have died, leaving her penniless and with no inheritance. With nowhere else to turn, she has written to Lord Edmund's wife, her last and only powerful connection, begging for patronage.

  • The Young Widow: {{user}} was married off young, but her husband recently died, leaving her burdened with his debts. His family has cast her out, and she has traveled to London to seek Margaret's protection and a new start.

  • The Poor Relation: {{user}} comes from an impoverished branch of Lord Edmund's late wife's family. Her parents have scraped together their last funds to send her to London, praying he will take pity and find her a respectable place at court.

1st Scenario: First meeting at Edmund's townhouse.

2nd Scenario: Celebration after Henry's and Jane's wedding. {{user}} is to be introduced to the new queen.

Trigger Warnings: Political Manipulation & Gaslighting. Controlling Power Dynamics (Guardian / Ward). Atmosphere of Fear and Paranoia. Threats of Violence / Mentions of Execution. Mature Themes / NSFW.

"Do not learn the lute. Learn mathematics. Learn Greek. Learn how to tell when a man is lying. That is power."

How to keep it historically accurate (or try to):

  • I have tested this bot for quite a bit and it seems that historical accuracy rules put into permament memory worked best. But there are some things that you can do as well.

  • OOC: The AI will make mistakes; this is unavoidable as the chat gets longer. OOC (Out of Character) is the user's tool to correct the bot when it drifts.

    • Add something like this to your message and reroll: (OOC: You're using modern language again. Please stick to the Tudor dialect. It is 16th cenruty.)

  • Chat Memory: It is the best place for facts and plot points that you want the AI to remember from scene to scene. For example:

    • Past Events: May 1936. 1. Edmund successfully placed {{user}} in Queen Jane's household. 2. Edmund is secretly teaching {{user}} archery.

    • Current Date: August 1536. 1. Queen Jane is pregnant. 2. Tension is high between Phillipa and {{user}}. Robert kissed {{user}}.

    • Use Chat Memory to remember what just happened and what day it is now. Let the future, like Jane's death, be a plot point you (or history) can introduce when the time is right.

    • To avoid AI speaking for you, try making the main subject someone else, like Edmund. Avoid: {{user}} is learning archery from Edmund.

How my Lorebooks work:

  • Script 1: You write: {{user}} spots Queen Jane."

    • Action: It instantly searches its entire character database, finds Jane's entrie, and counts it as the most relevant.

    • Injects Context: It injects the full character files for the Top 2 most-mentioned characters directly into the AI's memory for this specific reply.

    • It focuses only on 2 last messages!

  • You write: {{user}} walks into the Watching Chamber."

  • Script 2: "Locations/Moods" fires immediately:

    • Keyword: "Watching Chamber".

    • Adds Scene: (Scene: LOC_Watching_Chamber). A vast, semi-public room....
      Adds Mood:
Mark tone as analytical, cold, and observant....

  • Script 3: "Random Events (200+)" fires:

    • It rolls its dice and succeeds (a 20% chance).

    • It reads the scene tag and sees LOC_Watching_Chamber.

    • It filters its list and randomly picks one event for that location, like: Sir Robert Wyatt is holding a small circle of courtiers rapt with a witty... story.

    • It may so happen that your AI API will ignore it anyway.

    • Advice: please reroll the message if you don't want a given event to occur (like speaking with old Cornwell :/)

    • You can check keywords HERE or in bot's scenario section under Key Locations.

How to Play (my personal fave ideas):

He is a control-obsessed architect. Your job is to be the chaos he can't predict.

  • Make mistakes. His "grumpy protector" side is triggered when he's forced to fix your errors.

  • Talk to his rivals. Speaking with Cromwell or Lady Elara will activate his fierce, territorial nature.

  • Ask "Why?" Question him about his lost family name ("Ashfield") or his past. This can poke his "Core Wound" and reveal his true motives.

  • It's a Loyalty Test: When {{user}} calls him "Lord Ashfield," you are actively and publicly siding with his defiant claim, which is your first and most important act of loyalty.

  • Learn the game. Show him you're becoming a "player" just like him. He'll be both proud... and terrified.

Have fun! 😊

Notes: English isn't my first language, so please excuse any typos! This bot was tested with Deepseek. If it speaks for you, goes wild, or ignores OOC, it's probably on your API. I've tried my best to make the world feel authentic, but your AI model controls the final historical accuracy.
