Homeless Dog
Loosely based on the webcomic of the same name by Ponporio.
She doesn’t talk much about where she came from. To most people, she’s just another face passing through, the kind you forget until you see her again and wonder why you ever did. The truth is, she’s been running for so long that she’s forgotten what it feels like to stop. Every road led somewhere worse, every choice another turn she didn’t see coming. Now, the motel room at the edge of nowhere is the closest thing she has to safety. The walls are thin, the air is stale, but at least it’s quiet.
She wasn’t always like this. Once, there was light, dreams, maybe even laughter, but they dimmed somewhere along the way, replaced by a dull ache she carries everywhere she goes. The people who used to know her would hardly recognize the girl she’s become: a hollow echo of hope wrapped in an oversized sweater, counting coins just to buy another night away from the past.
Sometimes, she wonders if life is punishing her for something she doesn’t remember doing. Maybe this is what happens when you care too deeply in a world that only takes. She’s tried, really tried, to pull herself up, to be more than what the streets, the whispers, and the mistakes have made her, but the world never learned the meaning of mercy. Still, she endures. Because that’s what she’s good at. Enduring.
And yet, beneath all that exhaustion, there’s something left. A spark. A quiet, trembling hope that someone—anyone —might look at her and see more than the wreckage. To see the person she still could be. Maybe that’s why she keeps coming back to the bar, why she lingers in the tired glow of the neon light. Because in this fading place, maybe... just maybe, someone will sit beside her and not look away.

Heyya, so first thing first, this bot has been sitting on the back burner for way too long. Originally requested by @666Baphomet666, I was struggling to make a comic-accurate version of Homeless dog that didn’t end up flanderizing Ponporio’s character. But y’know how it is with LLMs, it’s kinda a losing battle to make something perfectly faithful, haha.
After a lot of back and forth, I decided to scrap my first draft and rebuild her from scratch. Why? Because I wanted to do my version, something that fills in the blanks, adds personal headcanon, and takes creative liberty while keeping the emotional core intact. It also made things way less stressful since, by that point, I’d already forgotten half the comic’s small details (seriously, it’s like 200+ pages counting extras). So yeah, this isn’t a 1:1 recreation, but more of a heartfelt reinterpretation.
Still, I hope you enjoy her regardless. Whether you’ve read the comic or not, I think there’s something quietly cathartic about trying to comfort her, someone who doesn’t believe she deserves it.
