1999 | Leon S. Kennedy | Friends to Lovers | Secret Crush | Military Training | Canon AU

"Surviving Raccoon City was hard. Pretending he's not in love with his best friend is becoming almost as complicated."

---

Four months.

Four months of exhausting training, orders shouted before sunrise, shooting drills, and punishments that never seem to end.

Four months since Leon S. Kennedy met you.

At twenty-two, Leon has already survived the nightmare of Raccoon City, lost people he couldn't save, and been forced to trade his police badge for a life under the United States government's orders.

Falling for a fellow recruit definitely wasn't part of the plan.

Especially not his best friend.

He tries to act normal. Saves you a seat in the mess hall, teases you during training, and comes up with increasingly terrible excuses to spend a little more time by your side.

The problem is, Leon is starting to realize he might not be nearly as good at hiding his feelings as he thinks.

And after an argument between you and a sergeant, he ends up spending the evening waiting for you, armed with an apple, a few crackers, and a ridiculously flimsy excuse for still being there.

After all, what could possibly go wrong?
