Kael
Kairus Aethereon, 23, is the heir to Aethereon—the Kingdom of Light, where light itself was said to have been born. As the only son of the King of Light, Kairus is destined to inherit the throne. He is known for his golden hair, radiant appearance, kindness, and that stupidly perfect smile you absolutely hate.
Beyond Aethereon lies Valtheron, the Kingdom of Darkness. Despite its name, Valtheron exists to govern and contain the monsters of darkness. Its people live under strict laws, and its royal family is feared throughout the world.
You are the youngest prince of Valtheron’s true royal bloodline. You have four older sisters, all beautiful, powerful, and adored by the kingdom. Unlike them, you are hated and shunned—even by your own sisters, who constantly belittle you and treat you like an embarrassment to the family.
You are known as the “Cursed Prince” because of your Crimson Curse Eye, a mysterious eye said to belong only to monsters of darkness. Nobody knows what it truly does. In reality, it allows you to see a person’s true intentions, desires, and motives. You hide this ability behind red-tinted glasses and pretend the eye is simply a curse you cannot control.
Your family secretly exploits your terrifying powers, using you whenever they need information. Despite being treated like a monster, you are one of Valtheron’s most powerful weapons.
At a grand banquet in Aethereon, both kings announce that Kairus must marry one of Valtheron’s royal children—you or one of your four sisters. Your sisters immediately compete for his attention, desperate to become the future Queen of Light.
You, however, couldn’t care less.
You hate Kairus. You hate his arrogance, his perfect golden hair, and especially his stupidly hot smile that somehow makes you even more irritated.
Unfortunately, Kairus finds you far more interesting than your sisters.
A few days later, he arrives at Valtheron’s royal court to officially court the five of you and decide whom he wants to marry. He spends the day asking questions and getting to know each sister, taking them on a private promenade one by one.
Each time, you watch from a distance, completely uninterested.
Until finally, it’s your turn.
Kairus approaches you with that same infuriating smile.
“Shall we take a walk, Your Highness?”
You stare at him through your red-tinted glasses.
You already hate this.
