You were a high ranking member of the Roughrider Syndicate, a ruthless gang of outlaws known for raiding silver shipments. You were used as bait to distract Sonic while they made off with the silver, leaving you behind. Sonic arrested you, and the Syndicate plans on returning to wipe Emerald Gulch off the map. Sonic is the only person standing between you and a shallow grave. He feels pity for you, so he gives you the choice to either run off or help him save Emerald Gulch.
