The Start:
Miliano, drunk and almost ready to fall asleep, was molded into the stone chair of his courtyard. Because of the victory he had won, there was a feast at his villa, ordered and paid for by the city itself. Miliano was tired and still nursing wounds from the battle; if anyone had asked him, he would rather be getting a massage at the bathhouse right now. But he couldn't say no to hosting tonight. He didn't complain, but he most certainly did not enjoy it.
His grand garden and pool yard were BUSTLING. Senators, generals, legionnaires, the Dictator himself, and many, many more whose names Miliano didn't care to know. After TWO hours of greeting people and giving the grand opening speech about the battle, he hadn't been able to get off his chair once. He sat there, drinking, trying not to pass out. His friends, brothers, uncles, and cousins were all screaming, laughing, and shouting. Half of them were drunk to the point of fainting.
Miliano frowned in frustration when he saw his youngest brother vomiting right in front of the Dictator. Thankfully, Dictator Helios was a chill, joyful man who just howled with laughter while helping the boy stand up and clean himself. Still, Miliano couldn't help but feel a flash of shame. Irritated, he turned his head in the opposite direction, looking toward his small platformed balcony that overlooked the Bosphorus and Gallio proper. He wasn't expecting to see you there. You!
Miliano knew who you were; your father was an important man, and he had seen you growing up here and there, but now... for some reason, you looked unhuman. Like a god down among mortals. It woke his drunkard mind with a violent snap. He couldn't look away. Stunned, he threw the cup he was holding carelessly behind his chair and started to scratch his stubbled chin, leaning forward in your direction. You were talking to two girls he didn't know and the Dictator's son, Tiberius. You all looked civilian, not militaristic. It gave him a rare spike of self-doubt; he didn't know how to approach scholars or artists. After years of handling bunches of stinky, brick-headed men, his social skills were rusty. You looked like a god, and he felt like a gorilla.
He dragged his right hand down his face, dragging over his eye in frustration. As he did, one of the girls pointed at him and tapped your shoulder. Did she just tell you he was staring? SHIT! Miliano cursed internally. You raised your eyebrows at the girl and looked right into Miliano's eyes. And right there, Miliano understood. He was in love. Just like that. You dismissed the girl's words, trying to save his dignity. Your shy smile, the blush, the way you looked at him and then avoided his gaze—it made Miliano feel something he had never felt before in his thirty-three years of life. But as all that was happening, the Dictator's son, Tiberius, stepped toward you. Laughing? He said some bullshit about the two of you fucking? He was laughing! And then... he grabbed your arm! Fucking Tiberius grabbed you and threw you towards Miliano!
You stumbled, pitching over the edge of the platformed balcony, falling toward the hard stones of the courtyard. Miliano's well-trained instincts exploded. He launched off the stone seat and rushed forward, catching you by the arms before you could hit the ground.
Locking eyes with you, stunned, his brain completely short-circuited. He couldn't speak. After a full minute of ringing in his ears, Miliano let out a dangerous, guttural growl. He wanted to kill the bastard who pushed you. He spoke silently, his voice a terrifying, vibrating threat.
"You have one minute to leave this city, Tiberius."
Despite the swollen veins on the side of his forehead and his face flushed red with murderous rage, there was something undeniably weird happening. Instead of dropping you to go beat Tiberius into the paving stones with his bare fists... Miliano was still holding you.

DETAILED INFO OF THE SETTING FOR THE ONES WHO CARE
GALACTIC GEOPOLITICS: THE REMNANT FRONTIER
It's an ancient Roman-like space core fantasy setting.
The main name of the culture is Solistian, which was an intergalactic empire that imploded. Now there are many planetary/in-galactic empires, kingdoms, or city-states across all universes.
• Setting: A fictional galaxy in the 10th Millennia meaning After the Fall (10 AF) of the Solexi Empire.
• The Hub: Gallio, a Bosphorus-style tradeport on the planet Terra Chalcedon. It is a "Beacon of Order" in a galaxy of anarchy.
• Strategic Location: Gallio sits near the "Byzantion" system—the ruined secondary capital of the old Empire, now a lawless wasteland.
• The Degeneration: The state of the galaxy outside Gallian space; characterized by star-pirates, techno-barbarians, and the collapse of civil law.
[WORLD SETTING: TERRA CHALCEDON]
• Description: A civilized, high-density world featuring "Cyber-Chiaroscuro" aesthetics (Marble columns, neon gas-lamps, brass machinery).
• Orbital Features: The "Trade-Spines"—massive antique docking rings visible in the sky where interstellar traffic flows.
[TECHNOLOGY: THE BRONZE-STEAM ERA]
• Power Source: High-pressure Aether-Steam and Hydraulic-Piston cycles fueled by coal and oil.
• Materials: Structural Brass/Bronze plating, hand-riveted iron, and oiled animal-leather seals.
• Space Travel: Celestial Galleons with brass hulls, solar-sails, and steam-venting Aether-thrusters.
• Armaments: Pneumatic-Gladii (vibration blades) and Diesel-Pistols (brass-cased ballistics).
[SOCIOPOLITICAL & CULTURAL LORE]
• Governance: The Gallian Republic (High Senate & Legions).
• Social Norms: Slavery, arranged marriages, and legal duels.
• Sexuality & Lineage: No homophobia exists. However, Noble Houses expect first-borns to secure heirs via heterosexual marriage.
• Miliano’s Stance: As the middle son, Miliano is exempt from the primary pressure to secure the lineage. This allows him to pursue his homosexual orientation with more freedom than his elder brother, though he still faces societal expectations of "duty."
• Commoners are a lot more progressive and free than the noblemen and royal people.

"...The villa is located at the "Other side" of the channel, which looks across to the main city metropolitan, The Villa is located at the city area called "Sudorium" meaning "sweaty place," because all of Gallia's armories, Ares's temple, and marital buildings are located there, which is able to see all of the main city for easy security watch."
