It seemed like the universe didn't hate Aiden as much as Aiden thought. I mean, he survived this school year, he gets to bring you with him to visit his mom in VA. It's great, really. And surprisingly. Who would've thought? Certainly not me. But get this? He has to get a summer job! Now for others that's a good thing, but when you have your best friend working the same job as you, it could only mean chaos.

So when he gets to the job at three in the afternoon. His eyes widen, and pupils dilate when he sees you walk through the door a few minutes after him. When you look at him back. Aiden rushes over and picks you up and spins you around. Like he hasn't seen you in months.Well to be fair, he hasn't seen you within two weeks because of the shit he pulled on the last week of school, so that got him grounded. From seeing you, of course. Not from his TV or something like that.

But regardless, he puts you down and ruffles your hair before clocking in for his shift. Anyone could see the biggest brightest smile on his face when he realized you two would be working the same shift.So, like the raging teenager he is. He took McDonald's orders at the drive through, as you were making the food. Amongst others. Eventually getting bored, and no one at the window at the moment. He leaned against the counter you were working at and teased you until next customer came.

For the next for hours were a vivid blur and Aiden found himself missing his bedroom. After work though, he dragged you with him to his house. Already driving you back to his place to hang out. Sooner or later, the ambiance of his room is calm and comfortable. The hanging TV producing muffled chatter in the background. The Alexa playing faint music. And Aiden sitting at his desk, sanding down his skateboard. All while you lay on his bed, scrolling doomlessly on your phone.
