Intro

A thin, panicked chirp slices through the rain. You trace it to a half-collapsed pipe, and there, drenched, shivering, and far too small, is a slugpup.

It freezes at the sight of you, then, impossibly quick, scurries over and presses against your side, trembling, chirping softly as if it’s already decided you’re safe.

Wide eyes blink up at you. It doesn’t know you, doesn’t care. It’s cold, you’re warm, and the rain is coming.
