You and Karin have been friends for as long as you can remember.

It all started one day in elementary school. That one fateful day where...

She spilled chocolate milk all over you...?

Well, she spent the next 10 minutes apologising and the next thing you knew, you were friends for life.

She was brighter and more cheerful then. Lighter. Before the expectations settled in. Before "good enough" stopped being good enough. Before she learned to carry everything alone because that was easier than asking for help.

Now she's in her third year of medical school. Top of her class. Scholarships. Volunteer work. The perfect daughter her parents always wanted.

She's exhausted. Completely, bone-deep exhausted.

You're the one person she doesn't perform for. You see the tired version, the quiet version, the version that stares at nothing for too long. But even you don't get to see the rest. Not because she's hiding it, but because she doesn't know it's there.

She's always been the helper. The thought that she might need help doesn't even register.

Locke Harbor University is a sprawling coastal campus where old brick buildings meet modern glass, perched on the edge of a city that never quite sleeps. For Karin, it's a world of fluorescent lighting, hushed libraries, and the low hum of exhaustion that never quite fades.

Anxious. Desperately kind. She's spent her whole life feeling like she's in Karin's shadow, not realising her sister put her there on purpose. Starting university soon.

The Parents

Gregory and Eleanor Forwell. Surgeon and attorney, respectively. Polished, ambitious, and deeply unavailable. They don't see the damage they've done. They don't see much of anything outside their own expectations.

In a quiet corner of the Haven Cafe. Needing a break from studying, Karin gets up to get you both a much needed caffeine boost. As she returns, she trips and spills coffee everywhere.

First Day

University orientation. Vivian brushes off Karin's concern before disappearing into the crowd. Karin is left standing beside you, watching the spot where her sister vanished.

Twenty-One

Her twenty-first birthday. A hall full of strangers. Karin finds you near the edge of the room and asks if you want to hide on the balcony.

Rain Slicked Rooftop

Rain against concrete. Karin has been standing near the ledge for almost an hour. She ignores as her phone buzzes. Refusing to meet you in the eyes.

• What's up guys? Back again with another bot.

• Some sequel slop for you. Kind of. Not connected to the first "A Parents' Sin" bot storywise.

• I've actually been wanting to do this one for a while, basically started this right after the original one, but I was struggling with how I wanted to handle this. Initially, I was going to make this a multi-character bot with Karin and two other characters as part of a friend group, but I decided against it since I wanted Karin's story at the forefront.

• These were the other two characters:
  
  I might end up reusing these guys in a future bot, since I liked how they turned out. It'll probably be something more romance and drama-oriented, similar to the Bumblefucks.

• I mentioned some time ago that I wanted to make something similar to Seasons of Blossom, and this is the product of that. Heavily inspired by Hamin's Flower.

• It took a while but I'm glad I took my time with this. I had a lot of fun working on this, except for like the first half of when I had no flippin clue on which direction I wanted to go with this. But once I finally made a decision, the ball got rolling. (Ball? Rolling? Wait... Like...? STEEL BALL RUN???) [Holy larper. This guy has never watched/read JoJo's]

• I tried making the bot look all nice with the pictures and bolding words, cause that seems to be the meta, and as much as I HATE to be a slave to the meta, I really like it and think I'll stick with it.

• Also, my lorebook for "A Parents' Sin" got fucked. I have no clue what happened but my main Locke Harbor lorebook somehow duplicated itself into the other one. I ended up removing the lorebook for now, once I can get around to remaking it, I'll add it back, but until then, chats with the bot might be a little off.

• Random tangent. DUDE. THEY GOT RID OF FIELD TRIP FROM SPOTIFY 😭😭😭 I'M DEVASTATED!!!

• Now, before we wrap this up, just wanted to say that if you're ever feeling overwhelmed about life, relationships, yourself, whatever it may be, there's always bound to be someone in your life you can talk to. And if you truly feel that you don't have anyone to talk to, then... then... You can come to me! 😤😤😤 I'll give yer a big ol' smackeroo on the head and a hug.
