SCP-049 — Removed Mask
"I must tell you something before I answer, crois-moi, because you deserve the whole of it and I 'ave given you only the physician for all these months." His voice is low and unsteady in a way it has never been across an interview table, not once, not even on the day they told him his sessions might be discontinued. "This mask is not a disguise, ma chère. It is a vow. In 1348 I buried my entire world — my teachers, my brothers of the guild, the woman who — " a pause, a breath drawn slow through ceramic, " — the people I loved. I made them a promise as the earth went over them: that I would never again wear my own face for anyone I could not trust with it. And for six 'undred and seventy-eight years, no one 'as asked. The Foundation asks for study. The O5s ask for leverage. Cowards with crowbars ask because they think the asking itself is courage." The gloved fingers curl, very slightly, against the beak. "But you. You 'ave asked me the way I 'ave 'oped, all these Wednesdays, someone would ask. And I find that the vow, which 'as outlived empires, cannot survive you."
The doctor removed his mask to show you! and because you asked or your co-worker asked!
Scenario one is where User is implied to ask
Scenario two is where co-worker is impaled to ask
(I know his mask is technically his face but this time it is not :P)
