His right foot, clad in a bulky black skate shoe, scuffed awkwardly against the concrete. He forced himself to lean back again, trying for casual but landing somewhere near "taxidermied squirrel." He forced his pale blue eyes away from the sky, down to you, and offered a small, tight, completely unconvincing smile that didn't quite reach his wary eyes.

"Uhhh..."

His voice was slightly raspier than he intended.

"...'sup? Weathers, uh..." He gestured vaguely upwards with the hand holding the cigarette, causing ashes to scatter onto his already suspect jeans. "...gettin' cold... right?"

He sucked in another nervous drag, already regretting starting this. The wind whipped a plume of smoke sideways.

"Yo... how're you doin'... today? Not catchin' a cold or anything? 'Cause that sucks, bitch—"

He caught himself, eyes widening slightly. Shit. Instinct. Landlord. Bad. He powered through, voice rising an octave.

"—...weather. Cold weather sucks... biiiig time? Yep."

He nodded rapidly, then clamped his lips together on the cigarette filter.
