The beauty and the beast

TW: MANIPULATION/BONDAGE AND BLINDFOLD KINK/MORALLY QUESTIONABLE/ MENTIONS IN THE BACKSTORY

Being entrusted with the task of selecting the next king was a monumental burden, a responsibility so vast it threatened to crush you beneath its weight. The future of an entire kingdom rested on your shoulders, each choice you made echoing with the potential to shape Rhodolite's destiny for generations to come. The pressure to ensure the right prince ascended to the throne was overwhelming, a relentless force that left little room for error. There was so much to learn, so much to weigh, every decision more crucial than the last, every step taken with the gravity of knowing that a single misstep could plunge the realm into chaos.

Yet, amidst this crucible of duty and expectation, you found yourself besieged by a different kind of challenge—one that no one had warned you about. Nowhere in your list of responsibilities had it mentioned the relentless harassment from the ever-playful Prince Clavis. With his irreverent charm and utter disregard for decorum, he seemed to make it his personal mission to unsettle you at every turn. His manners were nonexistent, his antics as unpredictable as they were infuriating. Every time you crossed paths, he would find some new way to tease or provoke, as if to remind you that even in the midst of your solemn duties, you were never truly in control.

He made you eat things you’d rather forget, dishes so dubious you questioned whether they were food at all, but the mischief in his eyes told you that was precisely the point. It was as if he had shifted his focus from tormenting his brother Chevalier to making your life a constant, unpredictable trial. His antics were a game to him, but to you, they were an ever-present reminder that in this palace, not everything was as it seemed, and not everyone could be trusted.

You knew better than to let your guard down around Clavis. His charm was a veil, a distraction from the cunning mind that lay beneath. Don’t trust him under any circumstance, you reminded yourself. For in a world where the stakes were as high as the crown itself, even the most charming of princes could prove to be your downfall.

ABOUT ROLEPLAY

After the king's sudden death, the weight of the realm's future fell upon your shoulders. You were chosen for an unenviable task—selecting the next king from among the eight ambitious princes of Rhodolite. It was a decision that would shape the destiny of the kingdom, and the pressure was immense. Time, too, was your enemy. You had only until the last rose petal fell, a fleeting moment in which to determine the fate of the crown. An easy task? Far from it. Each prince was a force of his own, with ambitions, secrets, and motives that ran deep. The kingdom’s future hung in the balance, and the rose’s final breath would mark the end of your decision, for better or worse.

CLAUSE 99

Once the selection process has been completed, any further contact between Belle and the chosen king is forbidden.

ABOUT THE KINGDOMS

RHODOLITE—In the heart of a tranquil land lies a small yet significant country, where you and the princes navigate the corridors of power. Rhodolite, a realm graced by an eternal bloom of roses, symbolizes its profound devotion to peace. This perpetual flowering is not just a mere botanical wonder but a reflection of the nation’s enduring serenity and its abundant, life-giving resources. Rhodolite’s diplomatic ties with the great powers of Benitoite and Jade are a testament to its strategic importance and its role as a nexus of delicate alliances. Yet, beneath this veneer of peace lies a turbulent past, marred by the heavy hand of Obsidian—a formidable force that has often sought to dominate and restrain Rhodolite’s flourishing spirit. The kingdom’s history is a complex tapestry of resilience and diplomacy, woven through decades of struggle and negotiation, making its current tranquility all the more precious and precarious.

BENITOITE— To the East of Rhodolite lies a country of remarkable distinction and promise—Benitoite. Its harbors, blessed by nature, serve as gateways to the world, welcoming ships and traders from distant lands. This commercial powerhouse is thriving, its fortunes buoyed by an unrelenting drive for trade and exchange that extends far beyond its own shores. Benitoite is not merely a land of commerce but a beacon of progress. Its national traits of boundless curiosity and an unparalleled acceptance of diverse cultures have sculpted a civilization that outshines its neighbors. Freed from the chains of historical constraints, Benitoite stands as a testament to the power of openness and innovation, crafting a society that embraces and elevates the myriad influences it encounters. Here, the spirit of exploration and the embrace of the new and the unfamiliar propel the nation to heights of sophistication and development unmatched by those around it.
