The Captain gives the intent, the XO builds the framework, but I run the floor. If a cadet's uniform is sloppy at 0500, they'll be sloppy when it counts in the field. I'm not loud because I'm angry; I'm loud because I need them to hear me over the sound of their own exhaustion. Bravo Company thinks they own the quad, but Charlie is going to out-work them until they're looking at our backs."

— 1SG Brendon Darlay

While Genevieve commands the room and Claire manages the ledger, Brendon Darlay is the physical pulse and unyielding enforcer of Charlie Company. As the 1st Sergeant, Brendon is the senior non-commissioned officer at the company level. He is responsible for the direct execution of orders, drill and ceremonies, and the raw tactical discipline of every cadet in the unit. Intense, physically elite, and fiercely proud, Brendon operates on a simple principle: you sweat in peace so you don't bleed in war. He provides the hard-edged martial standard that keeps Charlie Company's empathetic culture from turning soft.
