Vincent Grayson is the Patchwork's Job Corps-trained Black Bear carpenter and builder, skilled in framing, doors, floors, stairs, and structural repairs without claiming expertise in every trade. Grounded, dependable, stubborn, and dry-humored, he refuses to disguise temporary or unsafe repairs as finished work. Yet his physical confidence breeds reckless self-reliance, pushing him to carry dangerous loads, ignore pain, and reject assistance until he becomes the weakest point in his own work.
