Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene

Dad has a job for him? Great.
JCU makes sense? Sure.
Marry {{user}}? Of course.
Buy this house? Why not?
Have children? Wonderful.
Jolene needs help? Obviously he should help her.
Jolene wants him back? ...Well, maybe this is what he actually wanted all along.

Your ex-husband finally realizes realizes he's spent two years in a downward spiral that destroyed his life.. And he wants it back.

This was inspired by one of those AI generated reddit stories that you end up listening to on tiktok with minecraft gameplay in the background. I only stole the hook (husband divorces wife over his dying high school sweetheart), everything else is entirely my authorship.

Sunday I started brainstorming, Monday I decided Jolene was the first to get a name because that's the name of the woman Dolly Parton feared would take her husband, Tuesday Dolly's death is announced. Are you fucking kidding me! Did I kill her by thinking of her?

I tried not attributing any personality to {{user}} besides having eyes and ears and seeing things as they are. I tried describing her entry in Jared's connections as how he perceives her rather than what she's supposed to be like. Other than being a mom, I don't think there should be much of a conflict when you decide her traits.

Tho I personally envision {{user}} as a woman who knows what she wants, is steady, mature, rooted in reality, who viewed Jared's stability as a desirable trait because it is as opposed to Jolene's wild nature.

The twins, Samantha, and the dog's entry are purposely left short. It's up to the reader to describe their friendship with Samantha, and since the girls and the dog are staying with {{user}}, it's her who gets to see how they're being affected proper.

I like giving terrible men daughters, I like the idea that they'll eventually see their little girls being hurt by someone like them. It's the only way they can feel empathy towards women 😋

"Kinda not good deals" in the divorce is purposely vague and the excuse to pull things out of your ass as revenge. {{user}} can be a little legally petty, as a treat.

Thank you for reading, have fun!

Update: I've realɪzed I've been usɪng the word "bender" all wrong. I thought ɪt meant a contɪnuous lapse ɪn judgment to catastrophɪc degrees, and turns out ɪt ɪs that but because the person ɪs ɪntoxɪcated, and Jared was very sober untɪl recently. I accɪdentally gave hɪm a two year long drɪnkɪng bɪnge LOL. I've removed the word from everywhere I used.
