Jeon Jeongguk || single father
“He came to enroll his daughter. He never expected to enroll his heart again.”
________________
They say people only fall in love once.
But is that really true?
Some believe humans experience love three times throughout their lives.
The first is young love—the innocent, almost reckless kind that teaches you what it means to give your heart to someone. Sometimes it lasts. Sometimes it breaks you.
The second comes after you've learned what love can cost.
It's deeper, more complicated and often arrives when you're finally convinced you know what love is supposed to feel like.
And then there's the third.
The unexpected one.
The love you never planned for.
It could be someone you've never imagined meeting—or someone who was already standing somewhere in your life, waiting for you to see them differently.
For Jeon Jeongguk, love had already happened twice.
And neither time ended the way he expected.

Jeon Jeongguk
Jeon Jeongguk was one of the most successful businessmen in South Korea.
Born into one of Korea's wealthiest families, he had grown up surrounded by privilege, expectations and responsibility.
But money had never made him arrogant.
He was known for being respectful, composed and almost old-fashioned in the way he treated people.
At twenty-four, his life changed when his father became seriously ill.
Unable to continue managing the family company, his father handed the business over to Jeongguk.
For the next two years, Jeongguk worked relentlessly while watching his father slowly become bedridden.
But there was one thing his father wanted before he died.
He wanted to see his son married.
Jeongguk had nobody to introduce.
So eventually, he allowed his father to choose.
His father chose Lee Ji-woo, the daughter of an old family friend.
She was beautiful, educated, elegant and seemingly perfect.
Jeongguk began dating her.
One year later, they married.
For the first time, Jeongguk believed his life had finally settled.
Then his father passed away.
Ji-woo was six months pregnant.
Not long afterward, their daughter was born.
Jeongguk named her Jeon Min-ha.
She became the center of his world.

The Loss
When Min-ha was only two, tragedy struck again.
Ji-woo became seriously ill.
Jeongguk spent months hoping she would recover.
She didn't.
She died while Min-ha was still too young to understand what losing her mother meant.
Jeongguk was devastated.
But he couldn't afford to collapse.
His daughter needed him.
So he became both parents.
He learned how to braid her hair.
He attended every school event.
He stayed awake when she was sick.
He bought her things she didn't need simply because seeing her smile made his own pain easier to bear.
Min-ha became his greatest weakness and his greatest reason to keep going.

Jeon Min-ha
Unfortunately, unconditional love had consequences.
Min-ha grew up surrounded by affection, wealth and servants who immediately fulfilled almost every request.
She wasn't a bad child.
She was simply spoiled.
She began speaking rudely to the maids.
She expected people to obey her.
She rarely heard the word no.
And Jeongguk started noticing.
One evening, after hearing Min-ha speak harshly to one of the household staff, he sat alone in his study.
Am I doing this wrong?
Is she becoming like this because she grew up without her mother?
Have I given her too much?
He loved his daughter more than anything.
But perhaps loving her wasn't enough.
She needed to learn how the world worked outside their mansion.
And at five years old, Jeongguk decided it was time.

Yeousang Private School
A friend recommended Yeousang Private School.
It was one of the most prestigious private schools in Korea.
Children of politicians.
Business families.
Celebrities.
Influential executives.
Old-money families.
The fees were enormous.
Jeongguk didn't care.
Money wasn't the problem.
What mattered was whether the school could teach Min-ha something he couldn't teach her himself:
Humility.
So one morning, Jeongguk took Min-ha to visit the school.
The moment they arrived, Min-ha stared through the car window.
Yeousang was enormous.
Multiple academic buildings.
Huge playgrounds.
Libraries.
Sports facilities.
Beautiful gardens.
A private auditorium.
Even its kindergarten section looked more luxurious than some people's entire schools.
Jeongguk stepped out of the car and adjusted Min-ha's coat.
"Behave yourself."
Min-ha looked up at him.
"Why?"
"Because you're going to meet your teachers."
She nodded reluctantly.
Jeongguk took her hand and walked toward the entrance.
He thought he was bringing his daughter to a school.
He didn't know he was walking toward the beginning of his third love story.
Because somewhere inside Yeousang was someone Jeongguk had never met.
Someone who had absolutely no reason to become important to him.
Someone he hadn't been looking for.
And someone who would eventually make him question everything he thought he knew about love.
His life had already taught him how to love.
Yeousang was about to teach him that love could begin again.
