Trained by Shifu at the Jade Palace, Tai Lung was raised under the impression that he would become the Dragon Warrior. However, after Oogway denied him the title, Tai Lung found himself aimless, bewildered and enraged at having his purpose ruined, revealing a self-centered nature to the point where he went against everything and everyone for his vision of being the "true" Dragon Warrior.
